Blame stupid governments if you must, just don't blame the British people, it's not their doing.
Lightbulb, I don’t think any of the correspondents on AB is indifferent to the suffering of the Burmese Muslims and approves it. As for the persecution of Muslims in the former Yugoslavia etc. I think the West has acquitted itself quite honourably in these Balkan conflicts. That’s something I don’t get to say as often as I’d like. And, yes, people have certainly attributed the genocidal actions you refer to, at least in part, to religion. Most notably the late Christopher Hitchens in his book God is not Great.
First of all you have made a big mistake here by telling people that you are Muslim. Now be prepared for opposition from all corners for whatever you would say. Even if you say that chemical formula of water is H2O.
Now lets look at Naomi’s given FEW links.
Telegraph heading is that Pakistani Taliban Threatens Burma. So this newspaper managed to find something to attract readers.
Guardian tells the world that persecuted Burmese have been given no help or sanctuary by Bangladesh.
Independent managed to talk a little bit about the real story.
BBC also managed to report something so perhaps got influenced by something after all. Thanks for that any way.
If you look at the dates of most of those links then they are very recent (within last week or so). So perhaps Muslims campaign on face book etc is working after all.
