Because through the pages of the Bible he speaks to you.
He tells you what he has done in times past and what he has purposed to do in the future.
He gives you sound counsel and wise instruction for guiding you in the way that is best for you.
Since he is far wiser than any human, what he says is worthy of your attention.
If you listen to him, his written Word can be for you a book of life.
“For all things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.”—Rom. 15:4

Naomi@ As per usual you twist words. I am not doubting that she wrote what she believes to be true. Over the years I have found that many people convince themselves that certain things are true. But in many instances it is a case of "Chinese whispers". I have spoken with many who have said things were true, but on further discussion found that it was hearsay and...

the jw....protesteth too much!!! what i write is true (from several family viewpoints and certainly from all his brothers and sisters). you say no one is forced to be a jw - i say my hubby was. he was beaten black and blue by his dad to be at kingdom hall on time, each time. he was beaten before and after going out door to door to ensure he looked like a 'good little jw' when he was out (i remember, as i lived down the road from him as a child and remember my dad telling his dad to piss off on many occasions and get off his property). you can dress it up all you like, most jw's (and other religious people) do and try to ram it down my throat if it pleases you. but i stand by my view that everybody keeps in line and behaves like a good little jw because sticking your head above the parapet gets you reprimanded and potentially slung out of the religion (and reminds me of the stepford wife concept). anything based on fear and control, in my view anyway, is something to be avoided - how you believe it is all down to free will is baffling and you may need to open your eyes and actually take a fresh look at some of your congregation. i may not know the semantics of your religion....and neither do i want to. i don't need you or anybody else telling me how to live my life and why. i have a good moral compass and am a decent human being, who fortunately can pick my own friends and please myself. and that's the way i like it.
Goodlife, there are many very weird and bazaar sects and groups out there that attract many weird and needy people, JW is just another one of those and allowing their loved ones to die by refusing blood transfusions is just completely sick, all because of a belief in a silly book of lies and stories!! Madness and very very wrong!!
The general public too is becoming aware of the dangers of transfusions.
Thankfully, there is an alternative—bloodless medicine and surgery. Many patients view it not as a last resort but as a preferred treatment, and with good reason.
A British consultant surgeon, notes that the morbidity and mortality rates among those who receive bloodless surgery are “at least as good as those patients who receive blood, and in many cases they are spared the postoperative infections and complications often attributable to blood, and thats their choice as with Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Naomi@ Fear has many facets. For instance, Fear of God is a natural feeling, that gives us the same kind of security that a father who gives to his children. So such fear helps to banish the unpleasant, negative fear of man, to whom Jesus Christ tells not to fear, at Matthew 10:28? Sad for you too.

Goodlife, // Fear of God is a natural feeling,//
No, it is not a natural feeling. If innocent minds were never exposed to the concept of your hateful God, fear of him such as you and every other person who is selfishly obsessed with saving their own sorry souls experience, wouldn’t exist – and that is the sole reason you cling to him. You are a coward.
//…gives us the same kind of security that a father who gives to his children.//
Security? You don’t know the meaning of the word. Fear emanates not from security, but from insecurity – and genuine love cannot co-exist alongside fear – but I suspect you don’t know the meaning of the word ‘love’ either. Regardless of the crime committed, no loving father damns his children. He may be saddened, and he may be greatly disappointed by the actions of his offspring, but unlike your spiteful God, he loves his children unconditionally – and that’s something people like you are incapable of understanding.
Matthew 10:28? Oh dear. We’re back to the allegedly non-existent hell again. You’ve spent goodness knows how much time denying that the concept of hell exists within the bible, and yet you have no hesitation in utilising the appropriate verses when you think it will serve your purpose to do so. What a sad little man you really are.
Goodlife, you are mortal and you are going to die. Get used to it.

Goodlife, why did you list a good reason not to believe that this god you seem to think is the best thing in the world?
//[i]Throughout the world, 40 million people are infected with HIV, 20 million have died from AIDS, and 750 000 babies are born with HIV infection every year,” reports a Britain’s me... blah blah blah[i]// can hardly be considered support to highlight the 'good and fair god' that you portray.
locusts
people like you sprouts of about how unfair GOD is //then call him a murderer/
you can not see --the end of your own nose
did not God forewarn you // you close your eyes or not listen
from the Bible about breaking his law
the law //sex out of marriage-fornication//
fornication loosely--voluntary sexual intercourse )
And homosexuality Jude 7 compare genesis 19 4.5
Man does all these things thinking he knows better --and continues in its folly
instead of turning to the good book//
but some people say it is old-fashioned --(BUT but is it)
learning and reading to what he (God) says
