We have about 20 theists who contribute to Answer Bank so surely they can answer my simple question.

When Noah released all the animals on top of Mount Ararat or wherever
what did they live on ? The world was dead, all living organisms , plants and animals had been drowned by God's flood.

Nowadays whenever land is inundated with water for more than a few days it takes years to recover. So what happened to Noah's family and all those animals. How did they survive ?

goodlife, you have read the bible carefully so maybe you can tell me
the answer even if the other theists can't.

it was a twig, not a branch, a dove couldn't carry a branch,
But it wasn't just any old Dove, it was a Biblical Dove!
so more like a pterodactyl then
Probably
There are various science-fiction-type answers. Suspended animation for all the animals ? Then no need for food or sewage-disposal. Or, alternatively, God shrank them all to sub-atomic size. A teaspoonful of food would have sufficed for all the animals for weeks/months, and a teaspoonful of **** would have been swept up when Mrs Noah spring-cleaned. The olive-twig was then the magic wand which restored all the creatures to normal.
Yes, well, of course it's daft. The whole thing's daft from start to finish.
Keyplus, //That flood was local in a area known to Noah but it was not like Bible probably claims it to be.//

How can a local flood submerge Mount Ararat?
Keyplus, //That flood was local in a area known to Noah but it was not like Bible probably claims it to be.//

Probably? You clearly haven't read it so I don't see how you can form an opinion.
Faith is a belief without proof or evidence. No problem.

Yes dotty I could name the 20 who regularly use RS and who express theist beliefs some very strongly in the form of preaching , others who avoid answering questions by making silly remarks like :
#what only 20? that's a terrible percentage out of the thousands that use AB, have you definately asked everyone what they are? #
Daisy, //Faith is a belief without proof or evidence. No problem.//

Really? From what I see it creates a multitude of problems.

Iluvspikey # didn't Noan send out a dove from the Ark and it came back to him with an olive banch? So if olive trees were growing, stand to reason other stuff was too. #
If you read Genesis 8:5 it says in the tenth month the tops of mountains became visible . 40 days later the raven still kept flying back to the ark.
If you read genesis 8:8 the dove came back because there was no dry land.
7 days later the dove came back with a freshly plucked olive leaf.
So in seven days a tree had grown and produced leaves. ? Oh yeah !
#stand to reason other stuff was too. # Oh yeah ! And enough food for 16,000 animals as well I suppose. ?

No boxtops I think you are borderline. Yes Graham your suggestion that it could have been like manna from heaven but the bible does not say so , apart from the flood itself which was supposed God's work, the rest is put over as fact.
keyplus Bravo ! a true theist at last . Good to hear from you but there is nothing in the bible to support what you say about it being local. In fact it stresses the fact it was a world wide flood. If you read Genesis 9:11;15 God's Covenant with Noah he promises never 'again' to destroy the earth by a flood.

naomi #When you ask a difficult question based on plain rationality, what else do you expect? ;o) #

You are right of course but I had hoped that the theists would have defended their belief in some way.
However in fairness to them our local ministers couldn't answer the question either.

Yes indeed. Like the rest of them, he only reads what he wants to read.

Boxy, that website is run by Ken Ham, one of the nuttiest of Christian fundamentalists, and should on no account be taken seriously. He’s a dangerous man. He’s also the fellow who founded the Creation Museum in the US.

The question assumes that the inundation lasted a long time. Plants are hardier than we think and many obviously survived the week or so under water that was the flood.
The flood lasted for 150 days – somewhat longer than a week.

//What I can't understand is why not one of them has come forward and at least try to defend their faith. Their silence says it all//

Basically because not everyone spends all their time online. I note you only submitted the question on Thursday. It is only Saturday now. I have other things to do besides sit at the computer all day.
Truthabounds, Fair enough - but you're here now so any chance of answering the question?
Looking at this question, is it a genuine one, or is it another example of your mockery?
