Is It In In Any Holy Book ?
94 Answers
We have about 20 theists who contribute to Answer Bank so surely they can answer my simple question.
When Noah released all the animals on top of Mount Ararat or wherever
what did they live on ? The world was dead, all living organisms , plants and animals had been drowned by God's flood.
Nowadays whenever land is inundated with water for more than a few days it takes years to recover. So what happened to Noah's family and all those animals. How did they survive ?
goodlife, you have read the bible carefully so maybe you can tell me
the answer even if the other theists can't.

They preach , they quote chunks from their holy books, they tell us the bible is literary correct, but when asked such a simple down to earth question they totally fail to give an explanation.
It is the very first story on page 5 in Genesis after Adam and Eve and the first to demonstrate God's power . If you theists can not explain such a simple question why should I believe anything in the next 1000 pages.

Oh yeeh haf littel faisth. It is written in the good book that God will provide.
I suspect that God made it so the saved ones did not need nourishment until there was aplenty, then the creatures were allowed to kill and eat each other, contaminate their environment, and blow each other's brains out over difference of opinion about Religion.

Ive heard it said (in all seriousness) that Noah didnt let the meat eating animals out of the ark until the herbivors had had a chance to multiply and that in the mean time Noah would have collected dead animals to feed the carnivors still on board. Didnt explain what the herbivors lived on though. Never understood how otherwise intelligent people take such tales literally (the guy that told me this was a college lecturer and a fundi type christian)
modeller, you knew very well that you would get no answer from religionists.
While you're at it ask them how - right at the beginning of Genesis - there could have been morning and evening on the first three days when the sun and the rest of the universe weren't invented until the fourth day.
Come to that, why are there two conflicting accounts of Jesus' birth?
Alas, reason and logic are not in religion's toolchest.

AYG, it suggests here solutions to the poo problem! http:// www.ans wersing enesis. org/art icles/a m/v2/n2 /caring -for-th e-anima ls
Welcome boxtops its nice that one theist is prepared to make a comment although not answering my question but rather answering AYG's which is great as it highlights the logistics of the whole story .
I read your link which I have read before and we could discuss all the points raised but just take a couple of simple ones ( we all like simple questions ) .
1. How could you keep 16,000 animals healthy in close confinement for over 10 months. Transportation of animals and humans has been a problem throughout history. Disease alone would wipe out most of them . Did Noah's family avoid scurvy ?
2. In your link it says 11 tons of waste would be produced every day which would have required about 3300 tons of food over the 10 month period. All of which requires massive storage and how was it kept fresh .
3. What did the carnivores live on ?
One thing we can say Noah's family would have had plenty of exercise , feeding and cleaning 16,000 animals.

That link is hilarious in that it actually tries, in all seriousness, to treat the Ark story as if if were true and practicable.
"What did dinosaurs eat?" it asks, unaware, presumably, that dinosaurs were extinct some 60,000,000 years before mankind appeared.
The evolution of the human brain is plainly wasted on some people.
