To all those interested this is yet another newspaper I read, and it is amazing that even Greece seem to have a Mosque problem.
/// The Pakistani, named Muhammed Zafeer says:
/// “Greece has to decide if it will be democratic or if it will go back to the Middle Ages” as he shrugs. ///
/// This quote is ridiculous on so many levels because first, if Greece was operating democratically, the decision to build a mosque would be voted on by Greeks, Greeks would overwhelmingly vote NO. Secondly, Greeks spent a good portion of the Middle Ages defending themselves against genocide by Muslims and after that had to deal with 400 years of Occupation under
them. ///
/// The situation of the Middle Ages has already returned! ///

There is one old mosque still functioning: the Fethiye mosque in Ionnina, built in 1611.
What is a 'mosque problem' , AOG ? Is it that people have to find the explosives to blow one up (see the link above), to show their hatred ? Is it that people should not be allowed places of worship to practice their religion? Is that we don't like the traditional architecture?

Yes apparently. When you say Athens, you obviously do not mean the the Government and tax payer, as this mosque, like the ones in the UK, are privately funded.
Athens does not have a mosque problem. There are many mosques in Greece. Large parts of Greece were in the Ottoman Empire and the country has very many mosques.
The EU Times is terrible (see link above).

That figures...
// The European Union Times isn’t exactly a venerable news source akin to, say, The Associated Press. It is registered to Jessica Nachtman, wife of Christopher Nachtman. Christopher Nachtman is a former member of the neo-Nazi group National Alliance who more recently has been active in Volksfront, a racist skinhead group.
In October, Nachtman stabbed another man during an altercation at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach County, where Holocaust revisionist David Irving was giving a talk. No charges have been filed. The man who was stabbed, John Kopko, has also been involved in neo-Nazi activities in the past. Irving was quoted at the time as saying that Christopher Nachtman attended the event with his wife, Jessica, whom he said might open a bookstore and sell his books. The Nachtmans live in the semi-rural community of Loxahatchee in Palm Beach County, records show. [Editor's note: In her note to Hatewatch, Jessica Nachtman described herself as a "White Racialist," but not a Hitler worshipper. She said she "respectfully" quit the neo-Nazi White Revolution hate group after the stabbing incident and added that the white nationalist movement "is full of dirt bags, criminals, and unstable people," along with a a few responsible and intelligent people.//
