I have been trying not to respond to this thread because it is aimed at believers, but the OP really isn't that complicated or unreasonable a question - and so far only a couple of people have even attempted to answer it.

R&S is a forum which (surely) welcomes people who want to talk about religion or spirituality - whether they believe in it or not. It isn't just for believers. So if we are going to share this forum, asking people why they believe in God is entirely reasonable.
