Ed could award a "Freak of the weak" badge to Goodlife.
Yes, they are called Godscars. Congratulations!
its really quite sad all this ... it happens over and over again - goodlife spouts some deluded claptrap and everyone rips it to bits, yet still goodlife cannot see what is staring him in the face.
i really do feel pity that someone is wasting their one life being so utterly consumed by the adult equivalent of santa.
I have no problem with adults believing in any fairy tale they like.

I just object to them trying to force it on those that choose not to believe.
Hear, hear, 2sp...........
DTC, very good and very apt.
joko and 2sp. I agree. If goodlife's life is so wonderful and fulfilled, why waste it by trying to convert people when he could be out enjoying it?

Are Jehovah’s witnesses converting the world? No, they are not. In fact, they are not even trying to do so; that is not the purpose of their activity. Their purpose is to warn.( Mat 24:14)

//But like I said, you can't have everything//

A book Inquisition and Liberty commented on freedom this way: Independence is not, in itself, necessarily a virtue: it is not a thing to be proud of without further qualification. It may, in fact, be simply one of the baser forms of selfishness . . . Man is not, and cannot without absurdity even aspire to be, a wholly independent creature.”

And Prince Philip of England once said: Freedom to indulge in every whim and instinct may be appealing, but experience teaches again and again, that freedom without self-restraint . . . and behaviour without consideration for others is the surest way to destroy the quality of life of a community, no matter what its wealth.
GL....Are you sure that was Prince Phillip?.....Only.....☺
Goodlife, again you post more nonsense. you quote Pince Philip,
" but experience teaches again and again, that freedom without self-restraint . . . and behaviour without consideration for others is the surest way to destroy the quality of life of a community, no matter what its wealth."

Practice what you preach, you lot don't give a hoot about about communities, you just badger and pester innocent people by pounding their doors, you have a nerve, you lot are totally " without consideration for others" .

Its about time you realised, Answerbank is not here to be you pulpit, you have no desire to converse or ask genuine questions, you are hear in an attempt to convert others to your ridiculous cult. You are failing miserably in all your attempts to convert, you have nothing to say of your own, you would be totally lost without your ability to copy and past!

RATTER@ How wrong you are, clearly, it was not God who brought evil upon mankind, but man himself.
And you are just one more, don’t come on my page if you don’t like it.

People are often surprised when I tell them that I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Sometimes they ask me how I can believe in God. Their reaction is understandable, since most religions do not encourage their believers to ask for proof of what they are taught or to research their beliefs.
Getting a bit touchy are we Goodlife!

So what may I ask have I done to warrant you calling me Evil?

How very Christian of you! Typical double standards!
@Goodlife "RATTER@ How wrong you are, clearly, it was not God who brought evil upon mankind, but man himself.
And you are just one more, don’t come on my page if you don’t like it. "

It might be your thread, GL, but this is a public forum, and you do not get to control who posts on it, or what they might post. Typical theocrat, wishing to suppress anything they do not wish to hear.

And this little bit of self promotion hardly seems very likely
"People are often surprised when I tell them that I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Sometimes they ask me how I can believe in God. Their reaction is understandable, since most religions do not encourage their believers to ask for proof of what they are taught or to research their beliefs."

I have seen very little evidence at all of your asking for proof of anything, or any attempts by you to research anything either. Any time we debate about real world issues, the lack of your knowledge or education about topics such as medicine, or archeology, or paleontology or science in general shines through. Reading JW approved books is hardly research.
goodlife - ""People are often surprised when I tell them that I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses."

Interesting.

I can't remember the last time I told someone I was an atheist - maybe I have a wider spectrum of conversation, to go with my superior grasp of basic grammar and expression which I mentioned previously, and you have, as usual, ignored.

I am calling no one evil. I know the true interpretation of evil, you obviously do not. It is not for me to call anyone evil.

Ratter@ // Practice what you preach, you lot don't give a hoot about about communities, you just badger and pester innocent people by pounding their doors, you have a nerve, you lot are totally " without consideration for others" . //
You don't have the foggiest idea! You just listen to tittle tattle and hearsay. But I tell you this - there will come a day when JWs will not be knocking on your door and it will be too late to do anything about it. This is not what I say, it is the Bible and the Bible alone sets the standards.

I've said it before and I will say it again - No one can convert another. It is up to the individual. I do not expect to convert any of you lot here.

However, there are those who look, roam and do not manifest themselves. These ones may well be receptive to the truth of God's word and your arrogant and high minded attitudes may be proving that God is indeed, the Almighty and Grand Creator.

And that is all I have to say on the matter now. Bye Bye.
Typical JW - always has to have the last word - however incoherently.
Just like my teenage son, Andy!! :-)
Goodlife, "there will come a day when JWs will not be knocking on your door and it will be too late to do anything about it."

I can assure you they wont be knocking on my door again unless they want a 1/2 mile walk up the side of a mountain!

You say: "I've said it before and I will say it again - No one can convert another. It is up to the individual. I do not expect to convert any of you lot here." then why do you keep coming on here spilling your usual tripe and not actually participating in a discussion?
@GL
" But I tell you this - there will come a day when JWs will not be knocking on your door and it will be too late to do anything about it. This is not what I say, it is the Bible and the Bible alone sets the standards. "

- Oh Good! A time we can all look forward to then! No more existential dread about having to face 2 smiling earnest faces wishing to discuss the state of my soul.

"I've said it before and I will say it again - No one can convert another. It is up to the individual. I do not expect to convert any of you lot here."

- Thats good, because I suspect you would be very badly disappointed if you did expect to convert any who post here.

"However, there are those who look, roam and do not manifest themselves. These ones may well be receptive to the truth of God's word and your arrogant and high minded attitudes may be proving that God is indeed, the Almighty and Grand Creator"

-Which is exactly why your nonsense needs to be debunked, every time you post. And your lies and obfuscation when challenged about how JWs operate, or their hypocrisy in claiming the tax status of a charity without performing any charitable acts, or their dreadful inhumanity when disfellowshipping others within their community, or their scientific ignorance when it comes to rejecting blood transfusions all based around an incorrect too-literal human interpretation of something said in the bible.

I am performing a public service! Yay me... ;)
