Goodlife, we really dont need to read silly bits out of the Bible to see the light, after all we dont believe in much of what is written in the Bible, it is full of nonsense and hocus pocus!

When will you see the light and stop trying to convince people to believe a silly story that you got sucked into?

Atheists are mostly that way because they have seen the light and learned the truth!
goodlife - when will you get off your superiority trip?
we already have seen the light goodlife, it's people like you who live in the dark ages.
Yet another quote from the JW bible. As we don't have this version the references are even more meaningless than usual. Get off your @rse GL and post the full verse(s) so that we can at least confirm our prejudices.
He does not wish to publish the verse in full; The idea they have is that by quoting verse number only it prompts the grateful flock seated at the feat of these fonts of wisdom to go off and read the relevant text instead.

In return, so grateful are they for this guidance, those having read the post will flock to the JW banner.

The reality of course is very different. Those self-declaring as atheists have, as Vulcan has already pointed out, already "seen the light", and recognise religion for what it is; an outmoded belief model from more unenlightened times, created by man mostly in some kind of attempt to explain the world around them but unfortunately with a tendency to continually interfere in societies changing cultural values, mostly in a regressive manner. The JWs are simply a more extreme form of christianity, a sub-sect, or cult,if you will.
I'm a bit busy at the moment... but maybe next month I could schedule some 'light seeing'; although saying that, January is a bit miserable and I may not be in the best mood. Maybe all the athiests should get their diairies out and we can check our availability....
When I turn the switch on.
There you go jomifl.

Just the usual old diatribe that means absolutely nothing unless you have already been corrupted by these fools.
Goodlife, if we all thought alike it would be a very boring world. Leave it out.
Goodlife...stop using AB as a pulpit !
Question Author
boxtops@ Some do think that it would be boring to live forever.
They may point out the monotonous life of many people who have little to do but sit and stare at the screen.

If that is how you feel, Robert Jastrow said when asked if everlasting life would be a blessing or a curse. Jastrow replied: “It would be a blessing to those who have curious minds and an endless appetite for learning.

To a Atheists feel they have learned all there is to learn, their minds are closed. (Matt. 15:14)
Ratter,
for that invaluable link, I makes as much sense as the apparently unconnected verses the same references gave me via the 'bible gateweay', my prejudices have been cinfirmed.
Goodlife,

"To a Atheists feel they have learned all there is to learn, their minds are closed. (Matt. 15:14)"

there you go again talking unsubstantiated nonsense!!

Our minds aren't closed, in fact they are far more open than yours, you cant operate or imagine any other way other than your book tells you.

We don't have such restrictions, not believing in a God does not mean our eyes are closed, we just require some thing to substantiate that belief, and we certainly will never find it in any bible!

goodlife - "To a Atheists feel they have learned all there is to learn, their minds are closed. (Matt. 15:14)"

Quite possibly.

But it is only the arrogance of Christians who assume that aetheists have closed minds.

Once again, your arrogance allows you to post yet another cut-and-paste to shore up your (mistaken) belief that you have something we all need, and you sit there shaking your head and tutting at our perceived closed-mindedness.

As one atheist, i can confirm that my mind is probably more enquiring that yours - uncluttered as it is by dogma and self-aggrandaisment - so I will thank you to keep your arrogance contained elsewhere.
GL, none so blind as them as don't want to see.
And God said 'Let there be light'....and we could see for bl00dy miles !
when i open the curtains.
Ratter - our posts crossed - doubtless we were both pounding our keyboardsd simultaniously!

Goodlife is a Grade One example of the problem I have with religion, my problem is not with Christianity - it's with Christians like him!!
And yet Goodlife's quotes do not match that of the Bible as Ratter has pointed out

And does the bible not say:

Matthew 22:29 ESV
But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God."

"Hey woman your fine ointment, brand new and expensive,
Should have been saved for the poor.
Why has it been wasted? We could have raised maybe,
300 silver pieces or more.
People who are hungry, people who are starving,
They matter more than your feet and hair"

J C Superstar - the film was much more entertaining than the book:-)
