With no explanation, Goodlife is constantly telling the ‘poor’ atheists here that they have nothing – and today Khandro said exactly the same. I'm curious. Just what is it that these chaps think they have that the rest of us lack?

Khandro, it means that your posts are aimed not at the message, but at the messenger – as in ‘atheists are so vociferous’ – the second time in this thread you’ve chosen to describe atheists as such. It wasn’t a comment on what was said – it was a personal opinion of the people saying it.

On a small estate near me, every Saturday afternoon 12 people arrive in three cars, erect loudspeakers on a car roof and harangue the residents for an hour or so. They are not atheists, they are born again christians. If I reciprocated and set up a loudspeaker outside their houses and harangued them about the tooth fairy I would be arrested for breach of the peace. Why not them?

vulcan; I know, isn't it amazing? Wherever you look; on the AnswerBank, or on a small estate near you, everyone, including the most unlikely people like you and me, are talking about God. Who would have expected theology to rear its head once more in the technocratic 21st century?
Why, - just when we thought we were moving into a post-theological, post-metaphysical era, has the God question suddenly broken out anew?
I even noticed in a bookshop the other day a new section has sprouted called 'Atheism'. It really is a most unexpected development.

To my certain knowledge I’ve read seven of those books – possibly more – and none of them is about atheism. How could they be? The only thing that can be said about atheism is that it equates to an absence of belief in supernatural gods. With the exception of ‘The Dawkins Delusion’ by Alister McGrath and Joanna Collicutt McGrath, a scrap of a book less than 70 pages long and nothing more than an exercise in disparaging Richard Dawkins on a personal level, every one that I’ve read deals with the irrationality of religion.

For anyone who would like to give books like this a try, to begin I would recommend Sam Harris’ very short work, ‘Letter to a Christian Nation’ – which, despite its title, also extends to people other than Christians.

Never before have I known such a phenomenon.

I offered overwhelming witnesses as to the absence of evidence of innate "tendency" to spiritual belief in children - ALL parents of every child (i.e. unrestricted to any religion). Please read my posting.
If it's not there in the new-born then it's not innate.
But if you wish, I know of no evidence that the "tendency" to belief is innate in any age of human.
You do not even claim this innate factor is absolute, only a "tendency".
It's up to you and/or goodlife to provide evidence for your apparent knowledge of the "innate spiritual".
Did you invent it for convenience or have you documented scientific or other credible evidence? Evidence please?
You do your faith no favours with this sort of contentious of posting.

You look at some of fear envelops mankind there are numerous causes of fear, that can affect people constantly—urban violence, sexual harassment, rape, and domestic violence.

And yet God’s Word says: “Happy is the man in fear of Jehovah.” (Psalm :128:1)

So Knowing Jehovah is the best thing that has happened to me. Jehovah helped me so much in finding the truth and happiness. I feel I owe so much to him because he opened my eyes and gave me the chance really to "think" and find him. I now want to help other people find this happiness.

So where do people get this morbid fear from I do not know.

So that's what the faithful have ... better hair and arses.
