What Do The Faithful Have That The Rest Of Us Don’T?

With no explanation, Goodlife is constantly telling the ‘poor’ atheists here that they have nothing – and today Khandro said exactly the same. I'm curious. Just what is it that these chaps think they have that the rest of us lack?

Naomi....to turn your question if I may....the one thing I know that I have which the faithful don't is a wonderful sense of freedom.
I can still experience the feeling I had when I closed the door on the priest who came to tell me I was heading towards excommunication for having had an ectopic pregnancy and not asking for forgiveness. I knew I would never open a door to a priest again.
I do feel anger when I see my family pandering to the priests and calling them father.....but it's their choice to still be shackled to the church...and mine to be free.

naomi; It is interesting, and not uncommon, that being unable to deal with what has been said on one thread you feel the need to misrepresent it, and seek support elsewhere by starting another.

Well obviously; a belief in a God! - something you don't have, and I wonder why you seem to have a problem with that.
gness; I understand your concern, and agree with what you are saying, - and so would God if it mattered to him, but it doesn't.

Can't have been everywhere, Pixie...he spent fifteen years watching my every move....
Lordy! You have just made me remember reciting the Catechism every morning....Who made you? God made me. Why did god make you?
What a thing to do to a child!
Sadly some of it never leaves you....when I went to see the Exorcist all the flaming Latin came back.

Naomi, I see no point in answering your many questions and innuedoes because whatever one says it just gets ridiculed anyway. And yes, I will stick to my point of view the way you stick to yours.
jomifl, I disagree with you. Most of the threads on here are opened by atheists, and carried on for pages by atheists. So whose doing the obsessing? I would say that the believers just could'nt be bothered debating the subject because as I have said to Naomi, ridicule issues forth.
modeller, same old, same old. You go on about God being evil but you don't believe in Him.
gness and pixie, I agree that the Catholic Church has much to answer for in respect of some of the men and women who belong to it. However, the crimes they commit are theirs, not God's, and they are answerable for them. I do not belong to any religious organisation but I believe in God.
