Having clearly in mind the goals set by Jesus will help us not to become discouraged in the face of indifference.

Jesus wanted his true disciples to search out deserving ones, not to perform mass conversions. No, On several occasions he pointed out that the vast majority would not accept the good news, just as most Israelites did not listen to the prophets of old.— Mark 4:14-20.

So true. Those who didn't convert were executed. Does Noah's ark ring a bell??? Not unlike the Infidel's destination in the Koran.
It is not daft that we disagree.
How can somebody who does not believe Jesus Christ was the Son of God call himself a Christian?
Yet that is what JWs do.
So, it is not daft, just dishonest.
As I said we must make good around ourselves - it is true we won't all agree all the time.
Theland, I'm not surprised you don't see it.

Theland @ How can somebody who does not believe Jesus Christ was the Son of God call himself a Christian?
Jehovah's Witnesses do believe in Jesus Christ, that he is God's son. The Bible clearly states this, as does Jesus himself.
Obviously you do not know as much as you think you do about Jehovah's Witnesses!!

Woud you have liked to live at that particular time? The Nephilim were prolific and the violence was unprecedented. Very much like today.
You all make me laugh. You all claim to know what you are talking about but you don't have the slightest idea.

Just as Jehovah removed the wickedness rampant on the earth at the time of Noah, so too, in modern times, he will remove the wickedness again.

Goody gumdrops! Never mind all those good people who don't happen to be part of the family of Jehovah's Witnesses. Some justice!

Naomi - Just this once, I will answer you. Can you not read. God will destroy the "wicked", so unless you consider yourself wicked!! But then again, you don't believe the Bible so why worry!!
Goodlife, in that case there’s little point in you attempting to persuade everyone that becoming a Jehovah’s Witness is the only way to be ‘saved’. You may just as well forget your fears and content yourself with being …. good.

ps. I don't worry.
"God will destroy the "wicked"" is a simple misunderstanding of the text.

It actually refers to the eradication of candles.
:)
The JWs at my door agreed with me, then *** off.

Jehovah’s Witnesses make up such a happy family of Christians. They are not a sect, inasmuch as they are neither the disciples of some human teacher or leader nor an offshoot of any one church or sect.
The Witnesses come from all walks of life. They follow no man but rather God and His Son Jesus Christ. (Matt 5:3)
And Michael?
^One and the same, I believe, Theland. Try Adam.
The JWs at my door left when I insisted Jesus was the Son Of God, they having offered to show me scriptures proving me wrong and telling me that Michael was son of God.
I politely refused and they left.

Theland@
Jesus and Michael are one and the same. So I don't know what you are trying to say. They would not disagree that Jesus is the Son of God. Michael is his heavenly name and is referred to in the scriptures. If you are trying to be argumentative when the witnesses call, it won't work. They are there just to give the Good News as commanded in the scriptures at Matthew 24 v 14. If you don't want to listen, all well and good, that is your choice and they will leave you to your own interpretation.
Late on the thread I know, but just wanted to say that if true, Jesus was showing great wisdom in admitting not everyone would swallow the claims and conjecture (claimed to be revealed truth) that the disciples would spout. Only a portion of the public will be impressionable and want to believe. May as well set expectations appropriately.
