Having clearly in mind the goals set by Jesus will help us not to become discouraged in the face of indifference.

Jesus wanted his true disciples to search out deserving ones, not to perform mass conversions. No, On several occasions he pointed out that the vast majority would not accept the good news, just as most Israelites did not listen to the prophets of old.— Mark 4:14-20.

Then you are not listening properly. There again, the best talkers are the worst listeners.....
ISIL appear to be on the backfoot - good news?

If anything was guaranteed to kill any interest I might have in religion it's people like you goodlife who just bang on and on about it!

True, Good News in this world what is good news to one is often bad news to another. And, sad to say, the expression sometimes used in jest, ‘That’s the good news; now for the bad news,’ is all too real in life.
Goodlife, Stop preaching. You're abusing this site.

Then don't bother answering. Leave me alone. I am not preaching, I ask a question, and leave it open for debate by others. You would know it if I did preach.
"So Where Can We Get Good News?"

Peoples Friend magazine?
Since religion is a major factor, if not the prime cause of every war there has ever been, maybe Good News can be found anywhere where religion is not.

I am a living example of that argument.
I think this post is in the wrong section.!!
We make our own good news - with our family, friends and neighbours.

It may never make the headlines but that matters not.
"...deserving ones"?

Ephesians 2:8-9

"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Don't you read your Bible, Goodlife.

If that is what you see as Good News for you!

What's that ^^^ all about then?
All we get is Violence etc.

From Adam and Eve expelled from the Garden through The Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Israelites from Egypt seeking Asylum led by Moses, Slaying of Goliath, Killing of the First Born, etc to the Execution of Jesus Christ.

Wot about Jesus losing his rag and turning over the Usurers' tables.? you left that one out
Goodlife's last post shows how perfectly he's grasped the Christian doctrine of redemption.
Andy-hughes....Your statement that religion is a major factor if not the prime cause of every war.is incorrect.

As I have already posted elsewhere, during the 20th.century there were over twenty wars from the Boer War to the Vietnam War,and religion was the cause in only two of them : The Israeli Palestine War and the Balcons War.
I imagine one or two Jews might have an addition for your list, SirOracle.
Covered by the mention of the Israel/Palestine war, Douglas.
I meant the small matter of The Holocaust. Some might see a religious connection there.
