OK, I have listened to what the lady has said - so now I am more qualified to offer an opinion on her message.

As I suspected, she is a bigot and a horrible person, and does the public image of Islam a serious disservice, by implying that any normal Muslim with the morality belonging to any decent human being, thinks as she does.

That's the trouble with Allah, everyone agrees he can never be wrong. The problem is that no-one can agree on what he actually meant when he said the thing that can't be wrong.

I don’t make untrue or unfounded statements, spathi, or any that I cannot readily substantiate. I suggest if you're going to successfully argue your corner you need to keep up.

Sharia Courts are officially recognised as arbitration panels under the UK’s Arbitration Act. The government prefers to refer to them as “Sharia Councils” though Muslims refer to them as “our courts”. There have been numerous instances recently where UK courts have recognised decisions made under Sharia Law, particularly in relation to marriage and divorce. There have been plenty of individual cases reported: simply Google “Sharia Law recognised in UK courts” or something similar. You can also find reports of such courts acting beyond their remit by sanctioning “divorce” (which they are not currently permitted to do) and to go on to adjudicate in divorce settlements. Their principles in dealing with such matters are totally outside the UK’s Equality legislation.

If you cannot find any such material I’ll look it up for you, but I’d prefer you found it for yourself.

Since Allah is not around to confirm exactly what he means or meant by his 'word', it remains fair game to dispute it.

Arbitration? Isn't that for outside of court matters? Rape would certainly have nothing to do with arbitration (which is the main topic of debate here)

I don't care about religious weddings, marriages and commitments. Christian or Islamic.

Let me know when someone in the UK can rape a woman and Sharia law will protect them from UK law.

There are no Christian and Jewish versions of the Bible, there is the New Testament, recording the life and teachings of Christ and his earliest followers, which contains the Four Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, twenty-one Epistles by St Paul and others.

And there is the Torah; the law of God as revealed to Moses and recorded in the first five books of the Hebrew scriptures (the Pentateuch).
