I personally believe in the existence of God, (though it may take some time beyond your attention span to make a clear definition). I don't actually give a s-h-i*t if you do or do not, but I find 'atheism' puzzling. The champion of these is of course Richard Dawkins who has made himself into a millionaire on your intellectual laziness.
It may not need any total commitment on your behalf, agnosticism seems to be the sensible position for you;
Khandro, I don't know who you were addressing in that post, but I don't consider myself to be intellectually lazy. Have you read much of Dawkins' work?
Dawkins is recognised as a great Zoologist. Hawking was recognised as a gret Cosmologist and mathematician, but that gave neither of them a license to pontificate in the realms of philosophy or religion which born of them did.
Neither were experts in that field.
Having a Phd in one field does not qualify anybody to speak with authority in other fields which is something Dawkins and Hawking did.
In school woodwork class I made a passable teapot stand which qualifies me to lecture on philosophy, theology, quantum mechanics, and bicycle repairs.
Just as good as Dawky and Hawky.
AuntPollyGrey "As there is neither objective evidence that a Christian God exists nor objective evidence that a Christian God does not exist, this is an impossible question."
The second part of your statement above is nonsense.
i personally find the whole thing one big con, to keep people on the straight and narrow. If you believe in Darwin's theory of evolution then how can one marry up the two.
Emmie - You can't see God existing?
Fair enough.
What puzzles me is the lack of plausible explanations to the big questions from atheists.
"We simply don't know," is not good enough for me.
