agnus dei qui tollis peccata mundi ....
we havent had greek yet BUT
the lamb theme refers to isaiah 53
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.
BUT this is not really the stuff of real prophecy
and anyway the role of prophecy in BC was to warn the Jews / chosen people what would have happen if they wandered
and NOT - bet on the 2.30 at Kempton - it is a real goer !

The trouble with Isaiah 53 (which refers to someone suffering for 'our iniquities') is that it would have been studied not only by scholars but also by Jesus, and so would be easily used to guide Jesus's own behaviour and the stories that were later written about his life.
A claim of prophecy is a big claim, and needs better evidence that this.

Take me back to the smoking gun prophecy of Israel and lets see if its biblical.
(As opposed as to what your pastor has told you...lets think for ourselves)
What my pastor told me?
If it was down to my last pastor I would know very little about Biblical prophecy about Israel.
Apart from occassional meetings in Prayer for Israel, I have had to battle on my own.
Ezekiel ch 39 v21-28
Isaiah ch 11 v11-16
I am not going to quote to many Bible passages

it is plausible - but that does not mean it occurred - and doesnt explain john the baptist - behold the lamb of god (*)
the idea of jesus - " foo where is my word book - oh yeah - er before the night is out, you will betray me...." - I dont get it
(*) - or the two met and hammered it out over a beer
you the lamb of god - - no no ME the lamb of god...
OK you stand in the Jordan and I come along and say - "hey what you doing den?" and YOU say
it is far more likely that the script was re written to give credence to the prophecies - by 1600 - it was still believed the WHOLE of the OT revealed the new - it just kinda had to be revealed how.

fiveleaves 19:24 Tue 08th Jun 2021 A good place to start would be to read Isaiah ch 53
// John 12:37, Although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him, 38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, who said: “GOD ALMIGHTY , who has put faith in the thing heard from us And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed
Revelation 1:1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.???? And he sent his angel and presented it in signs through him to his slave John,
