Sitting outdoor dining last week it was so hot and sunny I had to use my parasol. A strange man was at the table behind me. As we left a friend said...you know that was the priest behind you...good thing you didn't poke him in the ear with your parasol....if only I had known! ;-)

On here beliefs won't be changed but I as so very happy to see beliefs in Ireland changing drastically. The change from my childhood until now is wonderful. So many Irish Catholics are turning their backs on the Catholic Church. I never thought I'd live to see it but I have and am revelling in the change.

As someone who has no biological children for a long time I was bothered by the fact that when I die my genes do too. It was a self absorbed thought but it really was there.

Then after a while I figured hey my body, (or even my ashes if cremated) will somehow create new life. all living things are atoms. If my body feeds a weed, which feeds an insect, which helps polinate a plant, which helps feed a person....well my atoms have gone on to create life.

Is heaven full of Christians? That would pure hell for me!

What about hell? Do you go to hell if you are a bad person or is not believing in god all you have to do to qualify? And what is hell anyway? Fire and brimstone and demons sticking red hot pokers up your *** all day? What would be the point?

but my (own) belief is that it is a place so far away from anything kind and good and that the mental anguish will be the worst. Anyone who has suffered bad depression (as I have in the past) may understand that at times the hopelessness and sadness is so heavy it is physical. And in (my) brain hell is that multiplied.
As to who lands up there - I have no idea. Humans are not able to judge the heart of man - only God can.

What has she done to deserve such torment?
