Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times.
Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth.
Is it not time to take the bible seriously?

the letter in the Times today said: Bible Studies Dear Sir, Keith Elliott writes about the debate over the exclusive authority of the New Testament (credo letters). Christians believe that canonical scripture was established under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That some books entered the canon 'by the skin of their teeth' is immaterial....

//Do stop your snootiness//
I do love an intellectual rebuttal! ....
Atheist: //Khandro; what's your favourite holy scripture?//

If you mean biblical (there are many other texts) I was recently asked that by reporter, I said Isiah 55:8-9
Khandro // archibaldy Yeah, why don't you do just that. //

I have indeed, my free Good News version (illustrated), given to me in the first year of secondary school has been sat collecting dust since those earlier days, a sentimental reminder of simpler times and it's unleafed through pages testament to my unawareness of the true state of the world as we are heading into the End Times, oblivious of the nailed on prophecies, and bereft of moral compass.
Crikey! I reckon PP's gone to lie down in a darkened room. :o)
I have been on holiday for a week, so have come late to this thread.

I scanned through the first 150'ish posts, and then gave up because it is exactly the same as alll the others.

Theland yet again advises us that the bible is 'prophesy' and then castigates responders who fail to agree with him - which is all but one, maybe two, honestly who cares?

Others offer the same arguments that have been offered time and again to Theland, who rejects them all as either being offered by people who despise his beliefs, or people who simply don't understand his position, or a variation of either or both.

I would never wish to detract from traffic which is the lifeblood of a site I love, but once again i find myself wondering - why on earth is anyone bothering?

From either side, the positions have been set in stone years ago, and not one milimetre of movement has been achieved from either side pursuading the other.

I do understand Theland's continual posting - he believes he has an important message to impart, and is not remotely discouraged by the wholesale rejection of it he receives day in and day out.

But I do wonder why anyone else engages in exchanges which are clearly as repetitive as they are pointless.
Khandro, I meant which holy book, not which book of the bible. You seem a bit promiscuous with your references to ancient authority, and I wondered if you had a special love or loyalty to any particular script.

The Jews Andy, the Jews. Its all about them and Gods dealings with them.
The prophecies concerning the Jews are borne out by history.
I understand what you ate saying Khandro, why do keep repeating it when no-one on here appears to share your interpretation?
Theland, you're either taking people for fools or you're deluded. Which is it?
Question Author
Neither.
Atheist: I might be loosely described as a Taoist-Buddhist-Christian, I can quote from many sacred texts, what would you like?
Theland, deluded it is then.

How about the ''Cherry picked verses from any book or writting that takes my fancy''?

Question Author
Thank you Naomi.
You're welcome.
Question Author
Your kindness is legendary :-)
nailit: Those headings are placed in a very considered, non-contradictory, sequential & relevant order, explain what you mean by "cherry-picked".
Khandro, I asked which was your favourite. You seem a bit reluctant to commit yourself.
Atheist: It isn't about 'favourites', because I like Beethoven doesn't mean I can't equally like Mahler;
I don't self-identify, I don't like words that end in 'ism'.
Theland - // I understand what you are saying Khandro, why do keep repeating it when no-one on here appears to share your interpretation? //

Any chance of a response?
