Believe it or not, Christianity is a religion, & just like all religions, that means that its foundations rest on ritual practices - something seemingly incomprehensible to the pagan mind- and it has rationally unjustifiable narratives or if you like, "myths".
So please spare us from these enlightened false-friends of Christianity who wish to usher it and its true followers away from such things.

goodlife - // You're obviously not worried about what's happening in the world ,so we are looking for people who are. //
You are quite wrong, I am worried about what's happening in the world, but I am delighted not to be 'worried' in the way that you think I should be, which saves me the tiresome taslk of bothering what you think.
// And I am glad I have nothing to do with christmas one of worst festivals on earth. (Ezekiel 9:4) //
I'm thrilled for you - heven forbid that you should enjou a day's respite from your endless grinding misery and fear.

Khandro - // I think the happy-clappy types are a particularly despicable bunch & I thought they were restricted to the C.of E. but what I have read, the plan to re-build Notre Dame de Paris into a sort of Walt Disney theme centre sound alarming. //
I have no axe to grind here, obviously, but I would have thought that anything that drags Christianity out of the Middle Ages, where its rituals and messages have remained for nin-hundred years, and gives it something of an acknowledgement that modern Christians are not keen on living a life of fear and dread, has to be a good thing.
What you call 'happy clappy' may just be some ministers trying to get some happiness and modern attitudes into their churches, and that cannot be a bad thing - can it?

AH, happy clappy isn't a name - it's a generalisation for the sort of evangelical sects that enthusiastically sing the praises of the Lord, firmly believe in the evil of the Devil, warn the faithful on the slightest misdemeanour that God is watching them, and tell anyone who isn't 'born again' that they are certainly going to hell. Some of them even do things like this famous face you might recognise.

Thanks for that.
I assume then, that the 'happy' bit is them all being thrilled that they have got the winning ticket.
To be objective, it sounds like all the fervents on here - past and present.
Over to you Khandro ...
