Mankind faces a crisis of its own making, and most scientists agree that man's activity is responsible for global warming.

“Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.”—Ecclesiastes 7:12.

Also long ago, the Bible foretold that widespread diseases or “pestilences” would occur during “the conclusion of the system of things.” (Luke 21:11; Matthew 24:3) When You consider the COVID-19 pandemic from that perspective, we see it as one of the many noteworthy events.

How knowing this helps: The Bible says: “We have this hope as an anchor for our lives.” (Hebrews 6:19, footnote) Such hope of better things ahead can stabilize us. It can help us to cope with today’s difficult situations, to reduce anxiety, and to keep our emotional balance.
goodlife - // It can help us to cope with today’s difficult situations, to reduce anxiety, and to keep our emotional balance. //

If it works for you, then fine.

Your problem seems to be being unable to accept that it doesn't work for everyone else, and that continually expecting it to is not going to change that.

Yes, but I am not selfish. I know that this helps some people just as it helped me when I started to study the Bible.
goodlife - // Yes, but I am not selfish. I know that this helps some people just as it helped me when I started to study the Bible. //

What you are is unwilling to accept evidence.

I have been reading your posts since you started on here, and not once have I read of one person being 'helped' by what you write, or more often simple C & P to make your argument.

It may well help people, but you need to accept that none of them have ever been on here, or show any signs of being any time soon.

Andy-Hughes// It may well help people, but you need to accept that none of them have ever been on here, or show any signs of being any time soon.//

True. But I have found that on this site, the majority are athiests anyway so don't want to know. Many who are really seeking God dont' come here obviously. But there are many who are genuine. You obviously are not!
The reason I come on this site is because I have a two fold message for people. As n the past, the Bible has always warned people and also gives a blessing. Deuteronomy speaks of a malediction and a blessing. As Jesus loved mankind, so do I.
Goodlife, I think you'll find the majority of Christians don't like your ideas. They think you're wrong.

Atheists don't like them much either. They think they're irrational.
Question Author
True, not all liked Jesus did they not.
goodlife: // But I have found that on this site, the majority are atheists//

If by this site you mean AnswerBank, it may be true that the atheists are the most loud, aggressive & insulting posters (belying there deep down uncertainty?), but I know for a fact that there are many sensible, intelligent people on here, who prefer to quietly keep their religious convictions to themselves.

In fact I'd go as far as to say the atheist cohort are a minority.
Khandro, //I know for a fact that there are many sensible, intelligent people on here, who prefer to quietly keep their religious convictions to themselves. //

But are they Jehovah's Witnesses? Doubt it - and if they're not, they, like you, are in Goodlife's estimation.... doomed. What are you supporting?

Wrong again, why make wrong guesses you don't know.

Goodlife says not, Khandro.

goodlife - // True, not all liked Jesus did they not. //

That's a dodgy comparison on a number of levels - arrogance being the immediate one.
goodlife - // But there are many who are genuine. You obviously are not! //

Be rude to be again why don;t you - that's going to encourage me to listen to what you have to say.

Or am I already a lost cause?
goodlife - // Wrong again,why make wrong guesses you don't know. //

Not knowing has never stopped you has it!
Question Author
(Not knowing has never stopped you has it!)

No, Because I believe the Bible As it says Mark 13:10 Also, in all the nations, the good news has to be preached first.

And Jesus said : “You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you; that you may prove yourselves sons of your Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.

For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? And if you greet your brothers only, what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing? You must accordingly be complete, as your heavenly Father is complete.”— Matt. 5:43-48.

It's says is all.

Khandro - You're wiser that Naomi.
No, it says what suits you to believe.

That makes it what you believe, it does not make it true.
