1) Name me a time that there has NEVER been a time of

Logic and rationalism as a basis for authority and legitimacy was certainly accelerated during the enlightenment but it wasn’t exclusive to that period.

Correct, of course. Logic goes back to the Greeks, and I guess there have always been people who thought they were 'rational' - still are!

The Italian artistic Renaissance was though, still steeped in, and arguably sponsored by the church. The Enlightenment not.
