When Will God’s Kingdom Rule The Earth?
48 Answers
True faithful followers today want to know when God’s Kingdom would begin ruling. Jesus answered their question by saying that they would not know exactly when it would rule over the earth. (Acts 1:6, 7) But, earlier, he had told them that when his followers see a certain group of events happening all at once, they would “know that the Kingdom of God [was] near” and that the time for it to rule the world had come.—Luke 21:31.

Levicticus 25:44 states Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. My question is: Does Scotland count as a nation or must I travel to European countries to get my slaves?
Many thanks

It's not really eternal life if we can only live to just over a hundred years at most. However, if we then go to heaven and continue some sort of eternal existence with god, what's the point of god returning to rule the earth? By then most of those who have ever lived in the last 5 billion years will already be in heaven. Maybe you could give a genuine answer tomorrow?
Surely roadman whenever god returns there will be many times more people in heaven than on earth. Rather than returning he could just terminate the universe and collect up the remaining people and there would be no need for him to rule on earth. God returning to rule earth seems a bit pointless.
Goodlife why would you like god to rule on earth?

[and then]
But, earlier, he had told them that when his followers see a certain group of events happening all at once,
just about sums it up
The document is a meldand has difft points of view
Jesus said "ay oop your time is soon up - not sure when tho...." - and at the time - it looked as tho that were true
and THEN.....
it didnt occur on cue
so St Paul recast it all ( his letters came first) in a more relaxed long term fashion
so far so orthodox protestant new testament theology
BUT or AND you ( one) ( they ) look outside today and see a downpour and the odd earth quake ( not many dead thank God) and say - oh it must be the end of time
and that is where we part company - I dont think it is

carrot99 i do agree god is unlikely going to return to earth but how you imagine heaven isnt accurate its not like everyone is in one room or floating on one cloud but instead a different realm or dimension earth is just an experience for us one that may be seen as a test but fail it or not i think enjoy it because its all we know for certain the here and now
carrot99 there is one thing that doest stack up and that is that god cant be both all mighty or powerful and be entirely good because if he was then there wouldnt be cancer in children and war and poverty so he either has the power to change that or he isnt good enough to so thats my argument for your side of things
II Peter 3 speaks of "new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."
II Peter 3:13 "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."
The new heavens and a new earth is the Third Heaven and Earth spoken of by the apostle Paul. For a detailed study: archive.org/details/studiesinabundan00wier/page/86
II Corinthians 12:2,4 "I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago... such an one caught up to the third heaven. How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful [permitted] for a man to utter."
God showed Paul a vision of the third heaven and the third earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness, but He did not permit Paul to speak of or to write about its details. The third heaven and the third earth are also the "new heaven and the new earth" spoken of in Revelation 21.
Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the
first [former] heaven and the first [former] earth were passed away..."
A day is coming when there will be a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. It is still in the distant future as there will first be a time of wrath and last judgment that Christ has delivered us from.
I Thessalonians 1:10 "And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."
II Peter 3:13 "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Roadman you said to me "how you imagine heaven isnt accurate its not like everyone is in one room or floating on one cloud", how do you know that? We could all be in a matchbox and you can't prove that that's inaccurate either.
PsalmEquipt why do we have to wait for a time of "wrath and last judgement" if Jesus has already delivered us from it? Seems a bit pointless if the people on earth are going to be lectured on, presumably, the error of their ways and are then going to be let off.
You also wrote "caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words". I don't swear and I wouldn't expect to spend eternity with the foul mouthed, that's not my idea of paradise. If it's to be one size paradise fits all, that's not really paradise is it?
