I was having a conversation about football with a friend last night and it morphed into a conversation about Quakerism....... .............If you felt that Quakerism was for you, how do you 'convert'. I understand that meetings are informal and as there is no mediator between you and God, whom would you approach to become a convert ?
Morning Jack, I know a couple of Quakers, and I believe their meetings consist of everyone just sitting quietly in a room communing separately with god. Perhaps the way to find out how to convert is to go along to a meeting house ask. I know they won't have anything to do with alcohol or gambling - they won't even buy a raffle ticket for a charity event - but that doesn't mean they don't give generously.
Wow! So quick..........
Thanks for the answers. It was just that if you wanted to convert to being CoE your first port of call, I suppose, would be to have a word with the bloke who stands up at the front on a Sunday. The Quakers have no such person...........
Strange where pub conversations can lead, isn't it ?
