I bought this book on its intial publication. I, too, was quite impressed by some of the issues under discussion..............then I realised that just a little while later the 'tenth' prophecy would be published under different cover. And so it continued................
I have never had opportunity to travel to places such as Machu Picchu and hoped that if I had been able, any cynicism I have developed from the wholesale defrauding of open-minded european folks would dissipate once I was confronted with the spectacular evidence of these ruins..............alas I shall probably never know.
Which parts of 'The Prophecies' appeal to you and why ?
I read it a few years ago, and what impressed me most was the whole thing with coincidences. Some of that seemed to make a lot of sense, but because of the time lapse I really need to look at the book again before commenting further.
Hello talie,
I can't quite remember the prophecy side of things as I also read this book many moons ago but I was very interested in the whole energy field between all living things and the way this can affect how we react to one another.
Fascinating book . I haven't got around to the other ones in the series.
I've had a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Celestine_Pro phecy
to remind myself what it was all about, and I would like to second Jack's question. Which parts appeal to you most, Talies?

Like Luna, I've only read the first book.

Apparently the book has been made into a film which is available from Amazon. Has anyone seen it?
I loved the book too, I think there are some bits which are very interesting and make a lot of sense, but I think getting too into any kind of prescriptive text is a little dangerous. I just take the bits that help me and leave the bits that don't behind
I liked the book all those years back when it was first published. That was around the time of my own spiritual adventure beginning. http://www.psychic-junkie.com

The Celestine Prophecy is now a great movie; you can get the DVD from Amazon or eBay I think.
