Yesterdays news - A Christian couple are forbidden to foster any more children because they refuse to instruct the 11 year old boy in their care about homosexuality being an acceptable alternative lifestyle, and to take the lad to homosexual discussion groups.
I haven't got a link yet.
I'd like to learn your views on this.
Personally, I think it is terrible and another example of political correctness gone too far.

There is certainly a degree of uncertainty about the exact mechanisms that determine sexuality.

However, it seems strange to me, if that is the case that one can choose, that people do choose at an extremely early age and that there appear to be significant physiological differences between gay people and straight. It also seems strange that people would choose to be homosexual, particularly when such a choice would inevitably lead to conflict, and possibly even violence (even death) in some cultures, and yet such 'choices' are still made.

I'm sure there are environmental factors at play too, but to my mind, it seems convincing that sexuality is overwhelmingly biologically determined.

Hmmm... point taken on that point, Ruby.

I still feel the overall picture suggests a biological determinant, though, and since you were asking about the physiological differences, these include things like certain bits of the brain that seem to be of different sizes depending on sexuality, different arm pit odours, due to different pheremones, and even different ratios between the 2nd and 4th finger correllating to orientation. There's lots more.

i have no problem with homosexuality (and am bisexual myself) and belive everyone is entitle to their own opinions. However in the society tjhat we are in now, surely it would be common sense to bring children up to understand and accept all walks of life, if not these are the children that are breed to be the homophobic, racist etc o the future that we are experiencing everyday.

I agree with you Pingu, but I also feel that a child should remain a child at just 11 years of age. Whether he grows up to be homosexual, hetrosexual or bisexual is something that, in my opinion, can wait a little longer to be discussed. I firmly believe that labels've become all too common these days. A person's a person, no matter what sex they feel attracted to in later life, and too much emphasis seems to be put on HAVING to teach youngsters about the choices available to them.

i agree to an extent but my 4 yr old daughter knows that people get married because they love it ach other and tht it can be men & women, men & men, women & women and i dont think this is a bad thing, as long as you tell your kids that peole marry for love it can only be a good thing

just read ur veiws properly theland. just because people are homosexual does by no way mean they dont feel paternal/maternal instincts like heterosexuls and also if you read the statistis you will find that the main carrier of HIV nowadays are heteroseuals. You may say it originated in homosexuals but surely someone along the line must of been straight to pass it on??

Absolutely. Gender is irrelevant so long as a couple love each other, but I don't think it's necessary to force the issue on youngsters - in any form.

I have been reading all the posts and I am suprised that so many seem to be anti the Christian couple for just expressing their views and standing by them but even a jewish couple, sikh couple, Muslim couple to name but a few would have also refused to sign that paper. Would any of you have called them bigots.? I don't think so. All religions have a moral code and people should be allowed to live by the moral code they believe in and not have the PC's force their ideas on them.

Pingu - Unless we choose to be blind about this, AIDS was a homosexual disease, and then spread by promiscuity and bisexualism into the promiscuous heterosexual community.
Along the way, drug addicts sharing needles became infected, and blood donors passed it on.
These are are not exclusive vehicles for the spread of AIDS but certainly accelerated its proliferation.
