Yesterdays news - A Christian couple are forbidden to foster any more children because they refuse to instruct the 11 year old boy in their care about homosexuality being an acceptable alternative lifestyle, and to take the lad to homosexual discussion groups. I haven't got a link yet. I'd like to learn your views on this. Personally, I think it is terrible and another example of political correctness gone too far.
without the link I'll assume
You said more so I assume they have already been involved in some incident of sorts and the people in question need educating that they have nothing to fear - maybe theve caused some serious trauma in a young persons life because of their unacceptable views - am I close?
Never finished reading the link as I just think the people concerned are absolutely sick pathetic half wits
Who could seriously put their imaginary friend in front of the needs of a real 11 year old child.
Theland that is everything that is wrong with religion
This is a good example of why organised religion causes problems. Why is Christianity so unchristian that it discriminates against people who are homosexual?
Just try and imagine what it would be like being gay and growing up in that household.
They didn't abandon him, they refused to indoctrinate him with beliefs that they did not believe in.
He had a good home.
Should part of the lads day to day routine have been pep talks on sex?
Couldn't he have been allowed to be a child for a while?
Havn't read the link sorry, but, has the boy shown any interest in homosexuality? I mean at 11 years old he is emotionally too young to make a chiose isn't he?
Hateful views? Hardly. They said that they do not discriminate against anybody and never have, but they believe that although homosexuality is legal, they believe it is immoral.
They are entitled to their views .... aren't they?
If homosexuals want to live together, that is up to them and none of anybodys business.
But, they cannot procreate, so by definition, they are in a childless relationship, that is naturally abnormal.
So what gives them the right to demand children living with them?
The fact that they can and do and that it is legal, does not make it acceptable to a lot of people, maybe even most people.
But another way of looking at it is that they're doing here is abusing the notion of fostering. Taken to its logical conclusion, they're essentially going out of their way to recruit children - with all their open-minded innocence - in order to indoctrinate them in a belief system that actually encourages bigotry and judgement and exclusion.
How would you feel if you found out that a local orphanage had actually been set up by organisers of the Hitler Youth?
Would you overlook the Nazi teachings and be pleased that they'd been given cuddly toys and birthday cakes while they were being drilled?
By your own rationale Theland, a heterosexual couple with fertility problems are "abnormal" and shouldn't be allowed to adopt as they'd be "demanding children live with them".
Remember, this is a Christian couple, who by virtue of their belief will advocate a civilised loving monogamous relationship, and sex, if it ever really had to be discussed, would be presented as within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman.
What is wrong with that?
Where did the hatred come into it?
And as much as they dress it up with mealy-mouthed sentiments about not minding it as long as it's not flaunted etc, they actively teach children that homosexuality is evil.
There you go. The antipathy's seeping out and you're actually trying to sound reasonable. Imagine how a hardline Christian couple would discuss that subject with an impressionable child in their own home.
