Christian Foster Parents
93 Answers
Yesterdays news - A Christian couple are forbidden to foster any more children because they refuse to instruct the 11 year old boy in their care about homosexuality being an acceptable alternative lifestyle, and to take the lad to homosexual discussion groups.

I'd like to learn your views on this.
Personally, I think it is terrible and another example of political correctness gone too far.

'But, they cannot procreate, so by definition, they are in a childless relationship, that is naturally abnormal. '
What a load of old baloney! I know plenty of married heterosexuals who do not want children - they are not abnormal, naturally so or otherwise, I can assure you.
As for the Mathericks? Well, I don't know of any parents who actively discuss same sex relationships, unless those parents are of the same sex of course, and I know of none who take classes in the matter either. They give information as and when asked from their children. As for them being scum? Well, actually I don't agree. They are being forced to sign something that they don't agree with, something I don't think I would sign either, not because I don't agree with it's subject matter but because this is a subject that needs gentle nurturing not discussion groups etc that could send a whole section of society into being even more confused than they already are
As humans we choose neither sexual preference, we just are what we are, hetro or gay or even bi but at 11 years old we need family love not bloody discussion groups - the council are removing the child, the Mathericks have not abandoned him

"yoo-hoo" - waves
Perhaps rather than 'forcing' the couple to promote homosexuality, there ought to have been some contract asking them to refrain from taking the hellfire, damnation and spawn of Beelzebub approach.............?
I'm afraid that instead of creating an atmosphere in which the child in their charge can grow up and form balanced opinions from his own experiences, they will weave a web of repression which will tell him that any starting point for his thoughts should be homosexuality is sinful but then he's perfectly entitled to make up his mind from there............

I think there is a huge difference between 'educating' about homosexuality and 'promoting' it. The world is made up of many different cultures, lifestyles, religions etc and I think that it's a great shame that these so called christians are showing themselves to be homophobic bigots.
What happened to christian tolerance?
However I do think that taking him along to gay association meetings is taking being PC too far, unless of course he expresses an interest in attending.
My hubby and I have managed to raise our children to be well balanced, tolerant, open minded and accepting of other peoples lifestyle choices without the need for 'gay workshops'.

But why not?
If your definition of 'normal' is a simple matter of percentages - x is only carried out by 10% of a given population, therefore it is not normal - without any emotional bias thrown in, clearly couples unable to have children are also abnormal.
The fact is, your definition of 'normal' is tightly allied to your religious views which (although we must acknowledge this is classic "Pick N Mix Christianity", and that Jesus said not a jot about homosexuality) state it is sinful.
Essentially, then, your prejudice is based on the works of a sky fairy, filtered via a Jewish flesh-eating zombie.

No wonder there Theland, they must be excellent parents or they would never have been allowed ot foster for the amount of years they have done - your argument there is, at best, very weak
I assume for your statements then that bio parent s must have thier kids removed for not taking them to gay discussion groups?

We are all rather (rightly) in the dark as to the family circumstances of this child........perhaps there is a specific reason why the Local Authority see homosexuality as an 'issue' ?
Please can we put the 'gay plague' topic to bed, now ? Especially with the recent rises seen mainly in the heterosexual population.........
I find your references to me being abnormal insulting, Theland. But, hey, seeing as you are a loving Christian with no hatred in your heart as are the Mathericks, I guess I ought to just grin and shrug, then.........
