Since Naomi will not give me the ****ing key I have decided to follow Jesus and be a Christian just like Theland. I am ashamed of my past history here so I'm going to devote the time I used to spend on ab to reading the Bible. No question really because I no longer care about what people think. I'll get all my answers from God from now on thank you.

Mibs, I read your tutorial and sort of followed it line by line, but then I got to the end and said, "what the hell was that?"

I am sure that I will disagree with you, as true love, taken to the Nth degree has nothing at all to do with the physical melding of two bodies in a climactic crescendo of, "oneness," but all to do with the indecribable wholeness of a relationship that is dynamic and suited to its time and place and is most appropriate to the circumsatances of the lives of the lovers involved.
So, sex is is important in its time and it place but is not the be all and end all of a true loving relationship.

Problems however arise when one acts on these feelings without understanding from whence they arise and what kind of subsequent actions are appropriate to a living thinking alternative selecting being. The sexual aspect of love relates to the procreation of a rational species and as such is essential to and of utmost importance to the process of life, life being the province from which all values arise and hence on which they should be based. That which gives rise to values is that to which values should apply because they share in a mutually interdependent relationship.

I think that love is also as you say, but is also often an emotion that defies logic and reason and does not consider any value associated with it.
How many parents want their children to, "marry well," and find a partner who can help build a joint future and who shares certain basic common values, then junior runs off starry eyed with a "disaster waithing to happen," but of course they are "in love," and some of these relationships work just fine, and some don't, ... in my opinion.

Oh Mibs, to suggest that I may only hold that self sacrifice in others is a virtue, well, as long as your tongue is in your cheek, that's fine, but if not, I'm hurt.
Having a large family, I am called upon to sacrifice almost daily, both time and money, and one thing that aggravates me is my inability to maintain my support for a few good causes that I have helped in the past. There's simply not enough of me to go around.
Of course, I could sell up and go to live in a homeless hostel, but that wouldn't be fair on those it would affect.
Mind you, a homeless hostel does have certain attractions, those being a total lack of responsibility, as taking on responsibility does not in itself provide the necessary solutions required by those who thrust their responsibilities on me in the first place.

Perhaps. But how much can you love yourself if you fall in love with someone who thinks it's ok to use you as a human punch bag? Or spme who puts shoving needles in their veins or alcohol in their system over you? Etc... (These are not personal experience for the record). I don;'t think you can love yourself much if you think that's all you're worth.
(And I came on here to moan that I've been feeling light headed anddizzy all day and I don't know why since I'm eating, drinking (squash or if I really need the hard stuff, tea), not doing any recreational drugs or anything else I can thnk of that might account for it and what do I find? You two engaged in conversation and not even thinking about my symptoms. Naomi wouldn't do that, Namomi would listen to me.... ;0)

Think of the times you might see a really very elderly couple on the T.V. news because some council is mistreating them, and all they want is to sit out their days, hiolding hands and knowing each other are there.
Wow! They were young once, and maybe enjoyed a bit of hanky panky before the great wedding day, and now, seventy years married, with kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, maybe even a few great great grandkids, and they have known and till know true love, but have expressed it differently in the changing times and seasons of their lives.
What am I saying here? I'm not quite sure, I was hoping the example would speak for itself. Fill in the gaps.
