Since Naomi will not give me the ****ing key I have decided to follow Jesus and be a Christian just like Theland. I am ashamed of my past history here so I'm going to devote the time I used to spend on ab to reading the Bible. No question really because I no longer care about what people think. I'll get all my answers from God from now on thank you.

Or possibly in general...My head is not on the job today so if you could watch the big words I'd appreciate it.
As far as I did understand Mibs in that people bring and invite things in to their lives that will ultimately make them unhappy or are bad for them I agree. I maintain that if all was well with the inside then the outside would not be able to interfere much with the inside. It's also very hard to mend the world when you're in need of mending yourself.
One other thing... seeing life as a battlefield? It's a gift. You're here out of several million other possible variations. Sometimes it's not the easiest but again, a lot of it we bring on ourselves. I don't see it as a battlefield.... just occasionally a little challenging!

KMA = Kiss My Ass I believe. (I can't think of anything else it could be other than kick my ass possibly but I've no idea why Mibs would want you to do that... not that I understand the kissing much more but what you two do within the privacy of this thread is your own business and I may just observe from afar)
Earlier this evening, I borrowed my sons' push bike and took my six year old grandson for a ride along the banks of the Mersey.
Lots of fun and a sore bum, but I could get used to it I'm sure.
The hills were great to go down and that's when I discovered the brakes didn't work.
Exhilirating to say the least. The son is not too bothered about brakes as he only uses the bike to get to work, just a few minutes from home. He forgot to tell me!
I'm very tempted to go to Halfords and but myself a decent bike. Going uphill sees me blowing for tugs, but maybe with a little practice, well, who knows?
Any of you folks cyclists?

I brought a bike last year. Went out riding and came off twice. First time not too bad, second time I dislocated my little finger in two places and my legs looked like they'd done ten rounds with Mike Tyson. My bike is now rusting somewhere in Guildford.
I am living proof that you can forget to ride a bike.

Theland, I've wrecked more bikes (mostly with cars) than anyone alive has any right to brag about. Be careful!
Oh yeah; you've seen what an awful driver I am . . . yet incredibly in every case I was the one on the bike . . . that is I was on it before the wreck. What I was on in each case is another story altogether.

One-two-many brownies got me a ride to the hospital and a citation (failure to yield right-of-way) . . . yeah, go ahead and laugh . . . I beat the ticket in court!
I walked or limped away from the rest ~ and never got a CUI
Actually, most were their fault, attributable to the "invisibility factor", although I did rear end a car once. I was carefully examining my derailer [sic] alignment under real world conditions at the time; (the light had just changed and we both could have made it through easy).
When a car or truck is involved it is usually best to disembark (derail) and let the bicycle take the brunt of it. Keeping the handlebars low offers better knee clearance when such procedures are deemed advantageous.
Amazingly I've managed to escape any permanent bodily injuries, (unless a neurological scan should prove otherwise); although less can be said for the bikes (another facet of my life of which I too have lost count).

Regarding KMA: Means nothing really . . . Just expressing my outrage and jealousy. Actually I prefer listening to well mastered studio recordings played through an equally good stereo system to many of the larger venues Ive witnessed, most (not all) of which had unpleasant to severe acoustic or equipment problems or the moronic antics of some audience members ended up providing better entertainment than the billed performers.
The last major concert I went to was to see Robert Plant (which was worthwhile) and I now could potentially travel a few hundred miles to see Roger Waters next week or Yes w/Oliver Wakeman in August, (Im giving the latter cweus consideration, but its looking like Id have to go it alone to see RW).
As for musical tastes, a certain somebody (whos anonymity I will honour) describes a certain musical artist (Enya) as lift music and I havent had the heart to answer my humiliation with a KMA or an explanation of how that particular class of lift music elevates me far beyond the top floor. So nows your chance, Theland, to thrust a dagger deep into my soul. From you I believe I can take it, although my participation in this thread may come to a screeching halt! Ive not responded to the others indictment in nearly three months. So what will it be . . . Et tu Brute?

I have to confess that when I first heard Enya, I was intrigued and actually "obtained," a tape of her stuff, (Watermark), which was O.K. for a few times, but then in my estimation descended into the realms of Des O'Connor, and I wouldn't even consider commiting suicide to her music, as it is so pseudo spiritual as to be complete yucky poo, with a capital, "Yuck."
My old friend and ex miner from deepest Lancashire tell me that Rick Wakeman and his son have for some years been doing a very low profile double act around little known working mens clubs, much to the delight and complete surprise of the clientelle. Maybe polishing up Olivers skills I wonder? Anyway that is the story and I have no reason to disbelieve it.

Believe it or not, Led Zeppelin passed me by, as I was just married and busy making lots of babies, and then coping with the resultant responsibilities.
(I know, we should have bought a telly instead, but thre you go).
My musical tastes were therefore dominated by what I heard in the late sixties, and very early seventies.
King Crimson, Family, Cream, Blind Faith, Hendrix, Quintessence, Hawkwind, Traffic, The Band, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Moody Blues, Beatles post '67, Stones, Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Leonard Cohen, ....(phew) .... and I loved the bands on the "samplers / compilations" that were doing the rounds. I still recall the lyrics of many of them.
No wonder my head is wrecked these days!

Head wrecked?
I came out of the doctors today, and got lost!
I knew where I was, sort of, but couldn't figure out why I was there. I went into a shop and bought fags and a lighter, and stood outside smoking, just waiting for it all to come back. Then when it didn't, I started to cry, and felt quite daft, and a bit scared.
Crazy isn't it?
I've become quite resilient at people looking at me rather strangely, and my secret weapon is, if I stand still for long enough, my thoughts start coming back into place, like pieces of a jig saw puzzle.
Maybe I need more music in my life.
"I need more music in my life," that sounds like a good theme for a poem .... or a song, maybe a Xmas song with infinite royalties, oh for some inspiration!
