terambulan, Im certainly not any part of any gang on here. Simply a realistic observation of my own on naomis posts (all counts), but ho hum and fiddly dee.

Incidentally, why would we want to change the ratio if that s what the conscriptions represent? If most of the British army fighting global battles on our behalf were Sikh (et al), then I would welcome the inclusivity and adaptation of the forces to accommodate that. Ditto, if the majority were atheist and the requirements for any faith leaders was diminished then so be it, there should still be provision available (within reason) for those who need it.
You're not? Ah Everton, have just read that thread, I see what you mean about the insipid and incongruous nuances of a shoulder with a big chip. Such sentiments define a person as being a rather contrite and pithy goon.

But thats just my opinion.
Yes, hence the words 'my opinion'. To be in a gang, one would generally need to know and share some commonality with its members, I don't know any of these people from Adam I'm afraid, so no "gang". I would probably be most consteranated if you consider ghetto and I have any form of joined-up thinking. But you can opine on that as much as you like.

But since last post syndrome has overcome you again, I'll let you have the last word:
Can I have, instead ?
IT.........
Can I have it instead ?
It appears I'm not alone in thinking you share much in common with the other members - and there's little point in protesting about it. It's no ones fault but your own.

And thank you. Let's hope this is the last word on the subject.
Ladai ladai muaaf karo

Kutian the tatti saaf karo
Got it again..........! Ha ! :o)
In older days they used to have people who used to beat drums on war ships to encourage people. I dont know what they were called saw that in few movies. Ben-hur is one example about movies. I wonder what religion those drummers were using to encourage soldiers in the battle?
Are you feeling quite well, keyplus ?

Drummers have been used in warfare situations to communicate orders which are too difficult to distribute by word of mouth alone.

I'm not sure that their religious views are in the least important. Unlike the role which they were fulfilling....
Squirm out of what?
Apologise for what?
Bully?
You made a reference to "they" and a "Christian God" I made a reference to "Hindus" and a "Hindu God" which you chose to ignore in your the answer, so by definition "they" did not include me because I sought to demonstrate the point of fatalism by use of another creed who "sieze the day" all the same.
You protesteth much too much Naomi you're more than happy to gang up on Keyplus when the mood suits you, it is indeed a forum for discussion but I don't know who you're trying to fool when you respond like this? We're all wise to you now and you don't fool anyone.
And as for apologies, I'm happy to apologise when I'm wrong (as you well know) but alas you are nowhere near lady enough to do the same ever.
The repition in your answers with regard to "a biblical God" have grown rather tedious, I'd be much happier to read what you believe in rather than endless mutterrings about what not to believe in, which is your stock in trade.
P.S.
I'm on nights, hence the delay in responding.
One of the problems is that the Christian God is usually referred to as 'God' rather than any of his 'older names'. This necessitates the addendum of 'biblical god' to distingish him(her?) from any other gods we may be referring to.
If I say "God";
the Christians think of Jesus's dad;
keyplus thinks of Allah;
the zoroastrians think of Mazda;
the hindus can think of any of his forms........, etc.

For that remainder who have some sort of spiritual belief that doesn't fit any particular written template, and believe that there is some sort of supreme being/force the word 'god', to them, is a description of this.
It is just very different from your God and this is what they are striving to get across.

If we could refer to the God of the bible as Yahweh, Adonis or even Arnold it would help clarify matters, I feel.
used to beat drums on war ships to encourage people

keyplus, the drums were used to instil rhythmic rowing by the slaves in the lower decks of the galleys. Failure to hit the beat would result in severe whipping. It wasnt for encouragement, merely setting speed and all were required to row to the beat, or get beaten. any encouragement was avoiding the attention of the brute with the lash.

Anyway, what has this got to do with the price of fish?
No no, I know that was to get people (slaves) into rowing in a rhythm and that is the reason I asked that would people who are against prayer and talking about Padres would brand them (drummers) religious as well.

Someone brought me into conversation about Naomi24hr and her China state circus acrobats. Thanks for that. But instead that is keeping me here because I know she does not want to hear someone from me. Its an encouragement. Then I am really not sure which Naomi is there at what time as I have always believed that there are three different people doing 8 hr shift each. She is so omnipresent that had I not been a Muslim I would have thought about here being some sort of divine spirit.

Although I do agree with my brother 123 that she does use this word biblical god very regularly. One more word she uses when she is stuck. Two actually

1. You do not like woman who stands firm against you.
2. Its only AB.

And yes She is sitting on the fence.

Now lets see
keyplus, I honestly believe you have been pondering this too much.

Time for a new hobby perhaps?
Everton, You clearly havent bothered to read the thread that youre so keen to herald, so to save you the trouble, Ill repeat what I said earlier. Your conversation regarding Hindus was with Mibs - not with me. My next post dealt with an unrelated topic, and was very clearly addressed to Lonnie - and, I made no reference within that to the Christian God. Lonnie is Jewish. Simply, you dont check your facts - youve blundered - and youre wrong - and getting your knickers in a knot and resorting to hurling personal abuse neither conceals nor changes that. Not to worry. Keep taking the tablets. You too, Keyplus. ;o)

Now, if this thread hasnt been completely demolished by our gangs petulant nonsense, perhaps we really can get back to Thelands question.
Quite right about the petulance, such as:

"Personally, I think it's quite sad that people feel the need to believe in the biblical God"

Belief in any other god is not sad of course.
No petulance there - and not necessarily.
