You must have been praying for at least 118 minutes last night!

Next time, can you add 'make the game more interesting' in your incantations?!

As a life-long Liverpool fan, Octavius, I go for the analysis of Alyson Rudd, one of the Times sports reporters who reckons that the whole thing was a conspiracy and that no goal was scored at all. The ITV staff, all known as Everton fans, had prepared in advance a 'goal replay' sequence from old archive footage. Knowing that if it went to penalties Liverpool would win, they took the match off the air for few seconds then brought it back with this phoney replay of a non-goal.
They had had to bribe all the commentators, reporters and analysts, of course, but they're rich enough.

Alas, tempting as it is, I can't bring myself to believe it and must accept that Liverpool are now out of both domestic cups and we'll have only the Premiership and European Cup to console us.

Well done Everton, though. They deserved it. Have a drink on me, 123everton.
LOL, my knees are worn out from so many Ave Marias!
It's now ave it Rafa!
I actually quite enjoyed the game (can say that now we've won) it was just an old fashioned blood and guts cup tie.
Chaka, I always knew you were a conspiracy theorist at heart. ;-)
Oh, God!! Football!! (Sorry) :o)

Yes, I suppose you couldn't care for Toffees.
No, to be honest I couldn't - but tonight's news report said the adverts came on moments before a long-awaited goal was scored, and I must admit to feeling just a little sympathy for fans. Only a little, mind. ;o)
