This follows on from Flobadob's thread. According to a new study, original Biblical texts have been mistranslated. God did not create the heaven and the earth. He 'separated' them. Your thoughts?

Mallam, well, there you are, Mallam. Surprise, surprise. You very clearly relished your fun - while it lasted - and now just as you can't be bothered, neither can I. I'm really not interested in what you were attempting to demonstrate, so do give it up, for goodness sake.

Your second post wasn't there when I posted, Mallam, but having now read that, firstly, I'm not thinking about what you meant at all, and secondly I would be much obliged if you didn't patronise me by saying you need to make things a bit simpler, because I can assure you, you don't.
Yes nao, Im sorry. That was uncalled-for. But I did say that I didnt mean you didnt know that sense of thesis, and if you hadnt misunderstood me through no fault of my own it would have saved this sorry wrangle spoiling what most posters seem to have agreed was a very interesting thread, and I agree with the sentiments of gratitude expressed to you in some of them for starting it, tho at first I couldnt be bothered even to join it, precisely because I knew just how much bother it would be. The article you linked it to annoyed me so much I felt moved to post a point-by-point demolition of it.I think we should both thank our lucky stars that I didnt embark on that!

Mallum, it's you who misunderstand. It doesn’t matter which article I linked to, the question remains the same, and your views on the study are irrelevant to that question. Although you don't appear to realise it, you have, indeed, succeeded in demolishing something - this thread. If you intend becoming a regular contributor to R&S, I can only hope that this experience doesn't bode ill for future questions here, because we do actually have some very interesting and enjoyable debates at times.

A word of advice, Mallum. You haven't been around here for long, but make no mistake. Some of the people you have encountered on this thread, and many you will encounter on others in this section, are extremely well educated, extremely well read, and extremely knowledgeable, and it would be rather unwise of you to assume otherwise.

The time for answering this question is clearly long past, and since there's no reason to continue this discussion, I will now close this thread. Thank you for the apology, and thanks to everyone for their input.
