Just had a call stating that there is a warrant out for my arrest for tax fraud. This was a recorded message. American voice on a British mobile number.

Just ignore it Bobby. I had one and had to laugh because the very same day I had had a tax rebate!!
Scams are getting more bizarre by the day.I had one earlier this week stating that I had won £825,000 in a lottery.
Awe crap, check your tax returns.
Or risk doing porridge.
Yeah this is an old one - been doing it for ages.
I had a complete laugh with it when they did it to me - I had a 30 minute conversation with them until I casually dropped into conversation that I worked for HMRC and that IR has not existed for 20 years!

Really annoying though isn’t it? It’s a bit scary too even though I know it’s a scam. Thanks for your replies.

Nice of the police to alert you!
Its not the police Sharon its Inland Revenue (apparently)
They ring to tell you that the police are coming to arrest you unless you pay the outstanding tax amount!
As I pointed out to the gentleman who rang me - why are the police arresting me when HMRC has the power of arrest?
See you in jail - Ive had that one a few times. Very scary for the vulnerable.
I got that one about a year ago. Unnerved me slightly for a few seconds.
It's not a particularly sophisticated recording, I thought, not worthy of the more experienced scammers.
these things are unnerving as they can leave you feeling vulnerable, wondering how does this person know my phone number?
Delete it and forget it.
