He's carried that whole team for years now, they should number his shirt right the way through from 2 to 11.

Probably a top 6 club with the occasional cup run pains me to say, i actually think he is the worlds best player because he produces it without being surrounded by other world class players Torres apart, unlike messi and ronaldo who have quality all around them

I wonder 123everton, the number of times he's rescued them is unbelievable really. Apart from the obviously chosen Torres as the other star man recently.

I begrudgingly take my hat off to Carragher too. Number of times he's saved them at the back.

There's no bitterness in the question, just an observation.
He's pulled them through so many games it's unbelievable.
Funny thing is a few years ago when there was talk of him going to Chelsea the Koppites were all saying that they'd won more games without him!

They're good players (Torres especially) they allow you to compete in games.
Gerrard is an out and out match winner, he's pulled them through so many games it's uncountable.
When they're struggling, the whole team look to him to do something special and he rarely (if ever) disappoints.
I can't recall a commentator ever saying Gerrard had an off day.
