3 from HQ (1st leg 2.20) and 2 each from Puchestown and Thirsk make up today's ITV 7 which culminates in the 2000 Guineas at 3.35.

I was hoping that one of 'my' firms would be paying on 4 places 'cos i was gonna have ten bob each way on Saffie's ride, Ten Bob Tony, the rank outsider.

So many handicaps with the requisite number of runners, today - 20 on these shores alone. Have to make sure i don't over-indulge. Don't want to give my wallet indigestionđŸ˜‰

Best of luck, all.

I am not having a bet today, but I am looking forward to seeing if City of Troy is as good as they think he is.

I saw Ten Bob Tony win at HQ when we were there recently so I will have a silly e/w at 66/1 . That way I can leave the race alone.

Afternoon. Saw your post late on yesterday Ken. Didn't even look at the racing. I was on poll clerking duties for 15 hours on Thursday and spent most of yesterday getting my head straight again and having a walk. Off out this afternoon shortly but dont know where yet. LLandudno is out of bounds all weekend as the place is rammed with the May transport and steam festival. Not worth the hassle nowadays. Talking of transport   ...   why are we over in Punchestown in May for ITV7 races when there are perfectly good, and even better, races in the UK including a very good hereritage handicap?(Wonder if Spike does Summerhand?) Ahh well rant over. Done the ITV7 despite glowering at two of the fields and done just the one punt. **** E/W Acca, Trebles and doubles. Like Pete65 I am waiting to see whether City of Troy has come on as a 3 year old and are will we be seeing the next Frankel. Good luck if you are having a flutter.

After now reading through the thread properly I too have had 50P e/w on Ten Bob Tony. His sire won the race ten years ago. Who knows.

A disappointing run from City of Troy.

What next for him, I wonder!

Even Ten Bob Tony beat it! Might it have been better served had it had a prep run? Or maybe it needs some cut in the ground. Too soon to be writing it off and it's in the right hands for improvement.

Will be interesting to see where O'Brien next sends it.

O'Brien's Auguste Rodin ran a stinker in last year's Guineas yet won the Derby, so City of Troy may be sent to Epsom.

Dean Gallagher, who rides City of Troy every day at Ballydoyle, has been very impressed with him in his work on the gallops.
