Hah! He might have won that bet at the end of the second set.
Off for rain now, tightly poised in the third set with Djokovic a break up. But the indoor conditions might help Federer a bit? I hesistate to use 2012 as a precedent but the chance in conditions may have made a difference there for him too.
I heard something about Fed's chances being enhanced if the cover is used, jim, but when i looked at the stats, Djoko leads 4-3 indoor, so it would still be in the lap of the Gods.
How frustrating with the rain, although it was expected. Giving me a chance to get some bits done as things have been rather neglected this past two weeks....! Worth it though!
Ah, well. You have to say that Federer didn't look at quite the same level as earlier in the tournament. Did Djokovic do that to him? Possibly. Anyway, well done Novak and better luck next time for Roger I guess (although I'd rather Murray won next year of course!)
Not as much magic from Federer, but of all the possible opponents, Djokovic was probably the toughest, the two best players in the sport currently, on the men's side.
One thing i have enjoyed about this year's coverage is the addition of Andy Roddick in the commentary box. Sensible comments and unbiased critique. Hope he's back next year.
I've enjoyed listening to him too, never been much of a fan of Tim Henman, on or off the Court. I like Andrew Castle but he can go a little OOT, McEnroe has to be my favourite though.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the thread during the match, nice to have some good tennis company :)
