The referee got it wrong, but he does not deserve the abuse he was getting, and certainly not the bottles tossed in his direction. He could only go to the TMO if he judged the offence to be deliberate, and he did not. He was probably correct in that. Of course the law will be changed: too late for Scotland, but we've been begging referees to take more decisions...
He shouldn't have run off the field, and he made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes. Admittedly this was rather a large one, but Scotland benefitted from mistakes by their opponents (one charge down, and one interception for two of the tries) , so I guess the luck evened itself out :-)
yep the sweaties where the victims of a bad decision, not much they could do, they did have a smalll chance before that to get the ball in a ruck then they could have bored it to death for 2 minutes and closed out the game but in the end the decision was wrong, pity they didn't go to the TMO.
// yep the sweaties where the victims of a bad decision, surely this//
surely this should be
the sweaties were the victims of bad bat ( bat and ball - call )
as the slobbers made a bing for the goom ( dressing room - goom )
and as splutch ( such and such - splutch ) .... etc etc
O come on 3T
you are far too dear today ( crystal clear - dear )
I do nolt use the term in a derogatory way, it is accepted rhymming slang for jock and on other threads others have said that jock is ok. If you choose to make it "derogatory" that's your cross to bear.
A penalty is only awarded for foul play,off-side is surely foul play.I have seen it used concerning a forward pass and also to differentiate between a deliberate knock on and an attempt to catch the ball. This was used to have a Scottish player given a yellow card, unjustly in my opinion.
This ref.used the tmo much more often than every other ref.yet for some inexplicable reason declined to use it at a critical time in the match.
