This was posted to my FB page - what are your thoughts?

Right I'm confused. Snowflakes say I can't get a gingerbread man, or write on a blackboard. Outrage this morning after some blokes lit up a model of Grenfell tower, out of order I do have to say, yet last night people with bonfires and fireworks were celebrating attempted murder by Guy Fawkes blowing up Parliament???? Did we celebrate the IRA blowing up the Brighton Hotel Tory conference, or the cold blooded murder in daylight of the female MP Jo Cox. So what's right and what's wrong. Answers please PC brigade.

My thoughts?

It's a pile of nonsense.....
We're not celebrating an attempted murder, we're celebrating the fact that a terrorist was caught and dealt with, thus protecting our democracy.
//last night people with bonfires and fireworks were celebrating attempted murder by Guy Fawkes blowing up Parliament???//

Aye? I thought they were celebrating the guy getting caught
It was pointed out to me on here last week that Bonfire Night is to celebrate stopping the blowing up of parliament, that's why people make an effigy of Guy Fawkes and burn him.
Like a lot of things posted on FB it is BS :-)
You are sadly mistaken. What is celebrated on 5th November is the fact that the plot was foiled and the culprits brought to justice.
That's nonsense about gingerbread men and blackboards.
the people who post this kind of rubbish aren't imo confused (and its usually not their words, its being shared) they are just trying to make some kind of point to fulfil their own agenda and when you trace these kind of posts back to the origin they very often come from racist/fascist groups.
Oh and I’ve a blackboard in my kitchen that I write on to remind me what I need
I read that Guy Fawkes had a heart attack on his way to his execution, but they carried it out anyway.
You sound confused to me, maggie.
And you can buy blackboard paint and gingermen cutters.

Crikey...it must be even grimmer further oop north.
I have a white board in my kitchen on the fridge -does that make me a white supremacist?......oh hang on... :-D

In all my years Bonfire Night was just an annual event that was usually just a fun time for families - always vaguely aware of who Guy Fawkes was and how it originated but never ever thought it was a night to celebrate anything and I'm sure nobody else actually thinks of the gunpowder plot and its rights or wrongs on 5th November.
Pure genius:

Ironically.. Guy fawkes was a christian. A christian trying to blow up parliament (terrorism?) Nooooo never!

Guy fawkes had the right idea. The corrupt evil can only be dealt with one way.

//Over the next few months, English authorities killed or captured all of the conspirators in the “Gunpowder Plot” but also arrested, tortured, or killed dozens of innocent English Catholics. After a brief trial, Guy Fawkes was sentenced, along with the other surviving chief conspirators, to be hanged, drawn, and quartered in London. On January 30, 1606, the gruesome public executions began in London, and on January 31 Fawkes was called to meet his fate. While climbing to the hanging platform, however, he jumped from the ladder and broke his neck, dying instantly.//
Also remember.. We usually put guy fawkes on top of the bonfire to burn him for his actions.. others celebrate his efforts.
I can tell you what isn't PC, sat around a table drinking beer with me and my mates on a Saturday...we should be locked up.
