fishing holiday

i don't know the first thing about fishing, and neither does my husband, but he says he would like to go fishing. i wondered if there were any fishing holidays in england, preferably cumbria. so someone could talk you through what to do, and you could just hire the equipment. any ideas?

Most of the fishing in Cumbria is fly fishing, so the techniques you'd learn might not be much use if you intended to pursue fishing in other parts of the country, where only coarse fishing might be available. However, these links might be of interest:

There is fly fishing in most parts of the country. You will have to decide whether you want to fish on rivers or on still water. You can kit yourself out quite cheaply with a flyfishing kit, you don't need expensive gear and don't be fooled by the salesman. My 5 year old son caught his first trout on a �10 rod this year.
If you want to fish on the river for trout, you only have 2 weeks of the season left.
A good place to visit or contact by phone would be John norris of penrith, they are the biggest fishing shop in the area.
