Cursor Problem On Laptop

For some reason I cannot control the cursor on my laptop screen with either the mouse or the touchpad. The cursor just slowly moves down the screen and disappears meaning I can do absolutely nothing on the laptop. Can anyone help please?

Try a system restart. You should be able to do a Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination , then keep pressing the tab key until the shutdown icon is highlighted and then press the Enter Key to select a shutdown sequence.

Maybe either youtr mouse or pad has a problem and is sending a 'move down' signal all the time ?

Try turning off the pad and trying as different mouse, see if the problem still exists.
