Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

I really must chuck out a lot of stuff too, just always need it after it has gone, and if it hasn't gone, I can't find it anyway!!

Bad Shaney! I have done the wardrobe thing for this year. Need to sort out my nightwear and put away the heavy duty winter stuff then I am done. I have got a nice little stash of m and s jeans which are my everyday uniform and will need some more sweatshirts in the autumn but I don’t like Cotton Trader’s summer colours.

Good morning all, its bright and sunny here. Cat behaved quite well in the night, still insists on sleeping in bathroom, but hey I'll allow anything for a quiet night!
It's hija's birthday today, she's 31, where does the time go? I miss my little girl, just dont appreciate it when they are young, my mum said leave the housework and be with your child, so I did as much as I could. We are very close, too close I sometimes think!

hello all. Nice man has collected shredding so that is done. I have tidied and repacked my lightbulb stash and a bit more of the garage floor is visible so its all good. Tortoises have gone outside as the week ahead is forecast warm enough...not before they managed to find the only 8 inches of uncovered carpet and both pee pints on it.

went down to the docks today... Chatham Dockyards. They are going to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Dutch setting the English fleet on fire on the Medway. A descendant of the Dutch admiral who did it was on hand to say he thought it was very nice of the British to celebrate defeat. All rather pleasant and lots of local gin.

My Dad and eldest brother both worked in Chatham dockyard Jno and I went to school ten minutes walk from there, up on the hill which overlooks the Medway. The school ,which was originally a hospital during the Crimean war, was built on top of one of the old defensive forts which were there to protect us from Napoleon.
Forts Pitt,Clarence and Amherst.
The last time I was in Chatham,about twelve years ago, it had changed beyond all recognition from when I lived there .
It's been a lovely day here.Really summery.

We didn't see much of either Chatham or Rochester, but we got shown round Upnor castle across the river.

Ah yes ..lovely Upnor .Been there many times in my misspent youth.
Rochester is nice especially around the castle and cathedral,although the castle is basically a shell ,just the outer walls.There's a walkway at the top where you can look down into the depths ...shudder.
We used to walk across to the cathedral at the end of each term for a service.It's well worth a visit if you get the chance . My old schoolfriend's sister runs the tea rooms in the Deanery.

Sorry I am late. I overslept so have been catching up everywhere.
My dad was stationed at Chatham in the war. And a cousin of mine was murdered on a towpath there I believe, but I was too young and dad only mentioned it once.
Am eating aspirin like smarties cos of toothache, still hoping it will clear up on it's own!
Am watching and waiting for this famous giraffe to give birth, my tablet goes everywhere with me.

hello all. It was a bottle collection day here so we went out early to avoid the clanking truck. Neti, go to the dentist. Infected teeth can cause more problems than just toothache if not dealt with.

Evening all
Another nice day ,mild and sunny in parts .
Nothing exciting.We went to Morrisons and had a very late big breakfast and did some shopping in there.
Try some clove oil Neti or Oragel if they something like it in your farmacia.Go easy on the asprin as it can play your stomach up.
Have the damn thing out on Tuesday and be done with it.
