Way back I bought MS Office Home & Student 2007 which covered 3 PCs, and over time I have installed it on 3 different PCs. I have now bought a new laptop and would like to install it on that, as I will no longer be using it on the old one. Is it possible to "remove" it from one PC and transfer it to the new laptop? I occasionally bring work home which requires Word and excel mainly. I appreciate I could install Open Office, but would prefer to stick with what I am familiar with. I still have the original CD and product key
Thanks

You can just install it as normal and it will activate as usual no problems . As the program is now reasonably old Microsoft aren't interested anymore.

I forgot to mention, my new Laptop OS is Windows 8.1 if that has any bearing on compatibility.
Thanks
Just install it. I have it installed on four PCs and nothing has complained.
As I understand it, provided the number of machines you have it on doesn't exceed three, then you're OK. Uninstall it from one of the others and then install it on the new one.

Thanks for the answers to my question. I have installed it on my new laptop using the CD, but can't find" it to access Excel etc. I thought it would have put an icon on the desktop. Can anyone tell me where to look for it. I am still finding my way around Windows 8.1!!
click the start button... then click the down arrow in the bottom left of the screen.... find the programs you want (excel.. word whatever...) right click on them and select "pin to start menu" or pin to taskbar.
I installed office to widows 8 laptops a wee box appears in the start up bit

Thanks Chuck and Murray. Chuck, excuse my ignorance but unlike my old Windows Vista, where I could do what you suggest re the Start button, I do not seem to have this on Windows 8.1. I have tried right clicking on the icon bottom left corner, and that brought up a menu, including the option of "programmes & Features, which I clicked on. Within that I found my Microsoft Office but when I clicked on it, e only option was Uninstall or Change. I cannot get beyond this point to find Word or Excel. Help! Thanks
