Zone Alarm
4 Answers
I have Zone Alarm installed and lately I've noticed something strange with the little Zone Alarm icon on the bottom right of the screen. There appears to be a little yellow and red symbol of some kind partially covering the Zone Alarm icon but nothing seems to be affected. Has anyone else noticed this or is aware of what it may be?

However, assuming its not idleness but incomprehension that's your problem, this symbol (red and yellow rectangle over the zonealarm symbol) is telling you that zonealarm is blocking traffic. The symbol is there because you've turned off the pop up alerts. My sarcasm is because despite not using this product it took me less than a minute to find this out.
Not hostile Christian. I just thought the question to be comparable to someone asking what the flashing light meant on their car dashboard when the car instruction manual was 2 feet away in the glovebox. Sarcastic yes, but I did also answer the question in reasonable detail. I also pointed out that it took me no time to find this answer without even having access to the product. Almost certainly less time than it took the poster to post his/her question. "Pages of techie nonsense"? Well ZoneAlarm is a pretty technical product which does some very technical things. By reputation though it is very untechnical in use. And I don't agree with your point about half the questions on Answerbank. Most people ask questions they haven't found the answer to elsewhere. Others are about things they don't understand or want opinions on. Very few are from people who can't be bothered to at least see if the answer is easily available before posting. Anyway - sorry for any offence caused.
