Trying To Connect Printer

I'm trying to connect my new Lenovo laptop to my HP Deskjet 1514 printer, but when I click 'add device' all I get is " the printer that I want isn't listed". Anything I can do to get a connection - I need to do some scans!

Don’t you need to download the right printer driver?

I was hoping for some sort of 'wizard' that would take me through how to connect it, but I haven't had any prompt about what to do

Unplug the printer from the laptop. Download and install the drivers.

Thanks. Have connected to HP Easy Start which has 'found' my printer, but as I go through the prompts I get stuck on a page 'Checking your software needs' with a circle that just goes round and round. Aaaargh. so frustrating!

Phew, done it at last - and it also downloaded the Chrome browser, although I didn't really want it. What a palaver, but have done my scans and all is well. Ta again for the link.
