Hp Printer/Scanner Problem

I have an HP 3630 all-in-one printer/flatbed scanner connected by a cable to my HP desktop computer which is running Windows 10 on Microsoft Edge. This morning I scanned in a document with no problems and then clicked on update and close on the computer. When I went to scan in today's batch of crosswords I got the message 'The HP Deskjet 3630 series was not found'. It is copying and printing as usual but the little blue light next to the wireless icon is blinking, something which has not happened before. I have tried switching everything off and on and unplugging and plugging in the cable. I have also tried it in Wi-Fi mode but all to no avail. Any suggestions as to what the problem is and how it can be fixed would be more than welcome. Please bear in mind that I am a complete technophobe so the simpler the language the better.

It seems to me that printer driver is no longer recognised. Download and run HP Print & Scan Doctor to see if it can fix the issue for you: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe If that doesn't work, uninstall the printer software and then reinstall it.

I think the blinking icon means it is connected to WIFI

Thank you. I will try that tomorrow. If the HP 'doctor' can't find a cure uninstalling and reinstalling the software will prove problematic as there is a disk stuck in the stack. I know the software can be downloaded direct frim HP's website so I can always go down that avenue.
I have exactly the same problem with my HP 6960 OfficeJet Pro. It gave up scanning to our (three) devices about a year ago. I've reinstalled the driver, as suggested by Chris, but to no avail. I have a suspicion it is to punish me for using non-HP ink cartridges and if I could be bothered to find out if that is true, I would be mightily annoyed.

Thank you Buenchico. New Judge, I always use HP cartridges - the printer rejected an Asda one once - so I don't think I am being punished. I have managed to uninstall the software but I am having problems reinstalling it from HP's website and at the moment the disk tray on my stack is jammed. I will have another look later.

Thank you again Buenchico. It worked after a lot of fiddling. Fingers crossed there will be no more problems.
Thanks for the feedback!
