System Administrator

Here's what may seem a stupid question, but I've had it come up several times, and am not sure what it is. So 'what is the/a 'System Administrator' ??

The System Administrator is the bloke that set the PC up or the IT department that manages it across a network.
Generally a computer techie.

as like llamatron said its the person that actaully manages the computer and can control the privelages of the accounts stored on the PC

But note that even if you just have a Windows XP PC at home, if you are the only person using it then by default you are the Sysyem Administrator.

You can install programs, add new users etc.

If you add a new user (so that more than one person can log on to the PC) then you can either make THEM a system administrator to, or you can set them as a limited user.

A limited user canot install programs, or look at or delete certain files, and cannot do certain other things.

Thanks vehelpfulguy. Thats what I thought but I was'nt sure, Thanks to Llamatron & Rowan 1990.
Only I caught a virus, and had to clear my computer, and reinstall it. I'm now having lots of trouble, so look out for me, a question is comming up.
