system administrator problem

hi there, i am having problems installing a new wireless modem. the problem is that i keep getting a message to sign in as an administrator on my pc. the name comes up in the first box but i cant for the life of me remember the password. i have tried everything that i usually use as a password but nothing happens. is there a way of getting round this problem. many thanks

Normally, if you didnt assign a password during set up leave the box blank and press enter.
I would think that it wants you to sign on to the router (rather than your computer), if the manual for the router doesn't indicate a password and, as Mac says, you haven't yet set one then just leave it blank.
Many routers default password is 'admin'.

i tried admin no joy with that. i will leave it blank when i get home. i am at work at the moment. i dont think its the routers password as i cant access windows explorer help either .
Im assuming you are trying to install the driver for the wireless on a user account with limited privileges?
