laptops or home computer?

i have a few pounds to spend on a new computer, mainly to download, e-mail, burn music, etc, which would be better value for money, laptop or home system?

A desktop is always better value - you get higher spec, bigger monitor and so on for the same price.

It is also much cheaper and easier to upgrade, so you should get more 'life' out of it.

So, if you intend using your new computer in a static place, go for a desktop.
