What is AV format

I am trying to transport video from camera to disc, also from PC to disc. The message appears : AV format (UDF2.0 type) 4.7 GB disc required. Can anyone tell me what this means or what I need? Many thanks Jan

UDF...Universal Disk Format....

Audio Video something or other...bad memory tonight :((
