If I install Mozilla, will it actually stop the Home Search pop-ups that have infected my machine. If anybody can help me, there are 2 or 3 programs listed in the Control Panel Add/Remove programs which I know are this virus, but if I click on them to remove them all I get is a message saying it cannot find the link. I have found the offending .exes but if I try to delete them I get a message that they are in use by Windows and my MS-Dos expertise is not sufficient enough to delete them via this (unless somebody list the comands fro me?) I was hoping installing Mozilla might overcome the problem but obviously it won't get rid of the offending files

Download Ad-aware and run a scan, that should get rid of the offending files
Worsel is right. Ad-aware. Also spybot search and destroy. www.safer-networking.org free spyware checker/remover. jam packed full of tools. very good. i reccomend using mozilla or firefox as an alternative to internet explorer anyway. They are good browsers.
