Freezing pdf files

Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart.The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

Hi all. That's clever Jno. very interesting and beautiful building. My bro has played in the House of Commons at something organised by/for Keith Vaz. He played with his duo partner and a flute player. He's just told me he thought it was great fun that he had smoked a spliff in the House of Commons.
I think it's today that Robi's family leave their home for the first stage of their journey to Aussie. If I'm wrong I apologise. Thinking about you Robi!
Also thinking about Shaney and Mr. S. today. Hope everything went ok for you. Not forgetting Mr W. Keep getting better now you are home.

I've had a good afternoon with my sisters and cousin and his wife. we went to a pub called The Fool's Nook near Macclesffield for lunch. Funny name innit. It was good to see them and we will all be meeting up again in August at his sister's farm in High Wycombe where we've been going for a few years now.

Yes Jude, they've gone to d-i-l's family in Warwick for the weekend who'll take them to Birmingham airport on Monday.
So to stop me wallowing sister phoned this morning to say they were down to their last crust & scraping of dripping & did I want to go shopping so I now have a cupboard crammed with cake & trifle, yay!(apologies to the slimmers). When I've been to Sains I feast for about 10 days & then it's back to srdns. The real highlight of the afternoon was discovering I'd spent half the time in the supermarket wandering round with my long tunic waistcoaty thing inside out. It's very fine open knit so it's not immediately obvious...until you see the labels (I'd been in the changing room to try a top on). Sister swore she hadn't noticed until we were at the till...yeh, right, ha de ha.

oh dear, Robinia, did you click on the spin doctor by any chance? Yes, I had to stick tacks in my screen to hold it steady.

Davidson hid? She did it on census night so she could give her address as 'Parliament' and prove that women could be there. All they get hiding in there now are musicians smoking spliffs.

Vincent have you been sending herb growing starter kits down this way? In my sister's sleepy village - well it's positively unconscious now - they found a cannabis factory. Yes robi that was me in the late 80's. Had just had a perm and had 92 rollers in my hair, it was so heavy they had to support my neck!!!

Hi de hi campers...yes I'm ok thanks, hope everyone else is too.

I went to a reputable hair salon see about having a perm once neti, saw the big chief, sexy accent, I think he was Swiss or sommink, and he said my hair was lovely & because I had a fair amount of natural wave it would go frizzy if permed. Told me to ask for one of his senior assistants to leave the length but layer it...she chopped the bloomin lot off up to collar length, I was gutted! I should have complained but I wasn't the bossy old biddy that I am now.

Oh Robi, isn't it awful when that happens. In the early 70's I had really long straight hair and was passing a salon in Ibiza and nipped in for a trim, they refused saying it was perfect as it was, so after hearing your story I'm glad. I never come out of a salon as I want, they seem to get scissor happy, but haven't been since December and it seems to be Ok at the moment! I beggar about with the colouring and fingers x'd it's Ok at mo!!!

Morning. I love my hairdresser, she does just what I want and going there is like going to a party. We all have such a laugh over coffee and biscuits. I didn't like the colour once and she did it again for free. If she ever leaves I will be devastated.

I was hoping to find Shaney and am thinking of her and Mr S all the time. I could phone, but I don't think I should disturb them. It must have been a long tiring day yesterday.
